What would y'all pay for this?
    Description he sent me:
"It started life as an MR556 16" upper kit. Barrel cut to 10.5, with appropriate HK Gas block for 10" barrel put in place. Traded out m-lock handguard for H&K earlier style quad rail.
Lower is a Brownells H&K forging with HK style markings added. Safety (ambi) and pistol grip are HK...the rest of the lower internals are probably Colt, because the HK parts look the same but are crazy pricey.
Only other thing not H&K is the buffer tube. It's a regular mil spec with the Magpul pistol brace."

Other than parts value, it's hard for me to price a build, but I'm builder,,, not a buyer. I fully expect what's cool to me, despite being built with name brand goodies, will not bring near the amount I have in it, should I ask. Of course most folks aren't that realistic (honest with themselves).

You figure the lower was 399 new, the upper was between 1800 and 2000 new...the handguard was around 200

You have to ask...why such a significant amount lower than cost to build? Is it wore out? Does it suck? Does it not run right?

Very good questions. I believe this guy is pretty honest as he's already sold me a Complete LMT lower with Geissele trigger and sopmod enhanced stock for $400 and a KAC lower that started as a striped lower and was built with all colt parts and an ALG ACT trigger for $420. So everything has been on the up and up so far and I feel I got a pretty good deal on those 2. The BRN lowers could be had for $189-199 back in 2018 and 2019 when they went on sale. But it seems the upper kit is a consistant $1700-1800. I"m sure he bought the new HG and sold the other or traded it so that was probably a wash in cost.
This guy has ALOT of things that go bang and is trying to consolidate adn sell off things he doesn't use any which is how I got the 2 lowers. But yes I get where you're coming from also.

It is the HK marked upper and came with the mlok rail like the HK kits online for $1800, so if it has the HK BCG I should be fairly confident it was a complete HK mr556 upper kit and not the ones from some other brand like Titan Defense.

My concern really lies with the barrel cut honestly and affecting reliability

This is solely based on seeing a crap ton of home gunsmif hack jobs and knowing the early Colt dissapators had reliability issues being cut from 20 to 16 inches

It may be fine and I may have no idea what I'm talking about...but it's enough to concern me to the point I probably wouldn't buy it unless I was prepared for it to not function and require replacing the barrel or something

I have zero experience with piston driven stuff but he said he changed the gas black to the one used with 10.5 guns, so I assume HK uses different gas blocks for the 10.5 vs 16. So I'd assume all else being equal it should be reliable unless they use different springs and piston rods for different length barrels. I'd ahve to do some research on that. And based on what I know of this guy adn what I've seen of some of his stuff, he probably sent the barrel off to an reputable person to do the cut. But I was going to ask him who did the work anyways.

Light came in for my 43X, TLR7 Sub. My slide is off getting cerakote because I went full retard and filed off the rear recoil posts to run a Holosun 407K without the filler plate.

What's odd, is that right next to these boxes was a bunch of 100 round Winchester range pack/boxes (115g) for $39.99. I saw few people grab those and skip the Federal.
