I don't know why safe companies do this. Very rarely is a safe designed to accommodate the number they advertise unless they're all shotguns or hunting rifles with no optics or pistol grips. Usually why they always recommend buying bigger than you need, especially if you have any intention of buying more in the future.

Can someone talk me out of this? I can't hardly even find bullets for .243 to load with, much less ammo, and when I do 100 bullets (not ammo) runs ~$50. This might be a touch long to stabilize in a 1:10 twist, but I could probably rig something up to take a little space in the nose if I run into that. It also seems that you can't push cast bullets quite as fast as jacketed but these are recessed for gas checks so that will let me push em a little bit faster than without. And people are powder coating them now instead of using traditional lube so there isn't lube grooves in these for that reason. And they have a 5 cavity option which could really crank out a bunch of free bullets in a hurry.

Tl/Dr: does anyone else cast bullets?

So best I can tell, jacketed 115 gr bullets are 1.3" based on this grid, and those cast bullets are just 1.06 oal so it should stabilize cuz that would put it around the 100 gr length which is what I currently shoot6mmlinex600.jpg

Still much better to have some (presumably the ones worth more) than none locked up.
I need to be more diligent and looking for used ones, as I need another too.

Yes, what do you want to know about it?

Its really more a novelty for me.
Ive shot it twice, if I want to shoot a .22 rifle Ill grab my CZ452 or the henry lever action. For a semi I still grab my old 10/22.

I like the idea of the pack-ability, do you keep it assembled or packed? Is it any less accurate than another Henry 22?

Its packed up, not as accurate as other .22 rifles but really its fine for what its supposed to be. An emergency or truck gun that you only shoot on occasion.

If I wanted a packable .22 the newer take down 10/22 with a magpul stock is what I would go for. Better accuracy and more accessories for optics/barrel choices. I bought this for nostalgia as it was the first .22 rifle I ever shot as a kid.

This showed up today. 11.5". Standard Flash Hider is coming off and I'll be installing the YHM QD Mini Flash Hider along with YHM Kurz Adapter for the Turbo K. Want to keep it as short as possible. That should be out of jail any day now.
