No, actually a smart move in some environments where bush craft is essential. Have a retired Navy Teams motorcycle bud who rattle canned his battle piece.

STS (Cerakote’d, ceramic) AR pistol. I would have preferred it as a SBR, but wish to avoid the add’l scrutiny and travel limitations that SBR’s attract. It is a gas piston gun (for improved reliability).

I paid for a custom inscription: “Manufactured by STS Arms as a pistol”.

I hear you. The tax stamp stuff requires a letter of permission once you travel out of state. It sucks. Pistol platforms are a great route to go. When I moved out of state I had to wait for a letter before I could legally move the tax paid tools.

The inscription has saved me a few times when traveling by airline.

Pro Tip: I toss an Apple AirTag into the locked case … just in case.

that inscription is gonna suck tho if the ATF changes their mind on braces when they make their final ruling in December (it just got pushed back from August) and you have to SBR it or remove the brace.

fingers crossed they don’t though, I completely agree on the ease of a pistol over an SBR for travel. I live on a state line and frequently shoot in both states which has me avoiding SBRs as long as the brace is a legal route.

Camo colors are just as practical on an AR as they are on any other field rifle/shotgun.

Air weight? 38 special? Been wanting to add a revolver to my collection but still trying to find the right one.

Got a Magpul SGA stock for my Remington. Last year I cut the stock down for better LOP but can't dial it from CQB to shouldering so I don't take it out as much as I need to.
