I took the horrible breacher barrel and speedfeed stock off it and added a different 18" barrel, yes. This was how I received it:

I bought this (Sig Mosquito) for a $100. today from a coworker. He was about to lose it to the pawnshop and said he'd rather see me get it. I thought it would be good to use to teach new shooters.

Thats a damn good deal. Not the most desired gun. or a gun with a great reputation. But for 100 bucks i would have bought it too!

I have one and it works just fine for the most part. They can be very picky on the ammo so if you try 1 brand and it doesnt work...just switch to another. Mini-mag and other (true) high velocity rounds work just fine. its the bulk pack type stuff that they can be picky on.

I shoot mine suppressed most of the time now (well when i do shoot it that is) And that seems to help with the ammo issues.

Just thought id give ya a heads up if you take it out and find it keeps having different issues like stove piping, failure to eject, ect that its just the ammo more than likely

I've shot this one before. It runs CCI just fine, but wouldn't run a couple of other types the one time I took him to the local sportsmen's club, but I've been reading up on them and a lot can be done. I noticed the mag has a bur on the lip I'm gonna take off and I'm gonna slick up the feed ramp and see how that does.
Thanks for the heads up though. Had I not already known, I might have got rid of it.

Glad you knew going into it at least! Hear to many people use it once and it doesnt work and they just give up on it. To many people are used to ruger 10/22's and the mki, mkii, mkiii type pistols that can run anything more or less

just bought the Redfield Counterstrike for my first ar build. Needed a real cheap and effective 1x red/green dot setup... got it for $150

Unfortunately the laser on the scope hits any A2 FSB and halfway hits any flip-up sights. I can sight the laser for under 50yds and it won't hit my front flip-up sight which is what I think is what the distance it is useful for. The red/green can be sighted in for 100yds. My current application is close to mid.

Also for anyone considering this.. the laser is a push-to-activate as opposed to the way more useful activate on-demand platforms using front grips. I considered this as a good buy for now as I needed something quick and somewhat useful. Later if this still holds its zero I will set my son (years later actually..he's a 1yr-old) up with an M&P15-22 and this sight to start on.

As soon as $ allows I will get a good 1-3x or 1-4x.

Ordered one of these so I can ride my bike to the range. My Eberlestock pack is nice, but not really suited for anything other than hiking. Plus, this isn't as obvious.

    lots
Just got my first one Monday. Ordered it from aimsurplus and it is in fantastic condition. Waiting on my spam can to come in tomorrow to go shoot it, and also have a archangel stock coming with it. Will probably wait until I get a m38 or 44 to put it on the stock though.
