I want an AK variant, but I keep talking myself out of it because I don't want to have to stock up on another caliber...... Maybe I should try to trade my Mosin for 7.62x39 ammo......

This thing was a blast to shot. I thought about getting the barrel chop and making it an SBR but decided not to. Right now I'm looking at getting a build kit from HK parts to build one during the winter.

Before you go and trade that mosin, try the 5.56 zastava m90. If I wanted to pick up another system and had some more research I may have got the m90 instead.

I’ve been buying 3 boxes a week from Walmart every week for the last 8-9 months. Think I stacked over 50k just from that alone haha. They shoot great outta all my 22lr pistol and rifles.

I’ve got a bit of it myself and I hope my 10/22 likes it but so far it does not like federal ammo. Hell, the damn federal target rounds would expand and get stuck in the chamber

I’ve been doing the same. Sitting on prolly 10k rounds of it. It has a lot of duds and my MKIV hates it, tons of failures to eject, even after upgrading the extractor. Runs okay in my 10/22.

I stopped buying it because I’m pretty underwhelmed with it. Will shoot through it and replenish with something else.

My Wal/Mart hasn't had any ammo in years - minus a few boxes of 12ga shells now and again
They went so far as to re/purpose a whole section of shelving where the ammo used to reside . . .

    I'm in NC

PSA also will have their new AK101/102s out in a little bit. They already have the AK556 that takes AR mags. I was going to pass on that one though.

Not really, I shot over 25k of 22lr last year and 5k of 556. It cost money to have fun and train and you need ammo! It would be different if I bought 10k of rounds and flipped em but I shoot my stuff. 22lr just happens to be the cheapest and I’m a 22lr addict anyways so it’s a win win!

My gal just got herself a Glock 43X.
Though I like my P365 I have to admit that is a fine shooting subcompact.
    My truck gun is G30S.
I also run a G31C that I have customized with all sorts of bits.

justify it however you want. You are the reason we have ammo shortages. But you have yours so it's all good, right? Screw the guy who wants to take his kid out plinking. When you see 4 boxes of ammo you could use over the last few years of the shortage do you buy all 4 or just 2 and leave some for the next guy?
