It's all an experiment here. We don't get any new handguns in CA at the moment. The best I can do is rent from the ranges and see what people are doing. Never shot hand loads before but have tried race guns with standard FMJ. So probably didn't notice too much of a difference. But the heavier weighted chassis did feel nice in the hand.

Oh. I'm gonna be at home here. :)
I knew I bought the right truck!

    Walther PPK/S (used) .380
    KelTec P3AT (used) .380
    Both with Crimson Trace grips.
    Bunch of .380 ammo.

I didn't even have a reason. I'm an addict. LOL.

Have great morning from a new member! :)

I went out yesterday with a few boxes of that (1070fps) and a few boxes of Norma tac22 (1100fps) and the 16” 10/22 stayed subsonic with both. The binary trigger was a hoot with the can! Glad I don’t have to try to setup my 10/22 to cycle subs.

Another test that went well is my MKIV has always hated federal automatch (which I have a TON of) and jams nonstop only with that ammo but it cycled a whole brick flawlessly with the extra back pressure from the can. Stoaked on all fronts!

I'd like to try both at some point but I think prs could advance my skills faster so that's what I want to start with.

Also what's your thoughts on seasoning a barrel so far I have 400 rounds through it (sk long range) and really only planned on shooting sk or lapua since they use the same lubricant. I want to get 1000 rounds through it to fully coat the barrel before I go to comp as well.

Also have about .5" at 50 yard cold bore shot that I need to try and figure out.

Grinded the pic rail to fit the rear bulge on low scope rings. I had it on Warne medium rings but sat up a few millimeters changing the cheek weld.

    Nice setup!
SK Long Range Match ran a little fast for me, my barrel is fast, so I was pushing super sonic in the heat.
If you’re looking to shoot PRS style and are shooting sub MOA or better yet 1/2, you’re good, positional shooting requires lots of practice on you, not your gear. It definitely will make you a better shooter (as would any new discipline really).
I shoot NRL22 and MOST rimfire series, these are great groups. Find your local match, borrow their gear and figure out what you want and need before you go down the rabbit hole. Many will be more than thrilled to help a new shooter and loan them all the gear they can.
Our local members have loaner rifles for new shooters. Honestly? This is the best bet, as you can pay for ammo, shoot a rifle that’s already setup, and focus on you. PM if you have more questions, I’m by no means a top shooter, but have some experience and love you help new, responsible shooters get involved. If you’re close or want to travel to Mid MO, I will make sure you have a loaner rifle with dope.
Check out YouTube, our club hosted the NRL22 Nationals and it was blast! We are hosting NRL22X match in few weeks.

Make sure you get good dope, run two mags on ammo switch, and clean out carbon ring,,, the rest is ALL YOU!

Weird cmmg got away without the split. They even have and ATF letter in the page of the product.

These are one sided optic rails for an AK. I think another company Midwest makes different length mounts but this is one size fits all

I was referring to the modification factor being more substantial with a plug vs a new velcro strap. The plug pretty blatantly defeats the brace.

If CMMG have no split and a letter I’m sure they’re good to go till the ATF changes their mind again. I only made mention of the split because we were talking about split fixes. There are plenty of other style braces without them like the kak blade.

The CMMG is just a modified SBA3 on a short buffer tube

    It still has the split

"No handguns in Califofrnia at the moment"? News to me....where did you hear that? Not that I am looking for a new handgun, just curious as to your information source?

We have a roster of approved handguns for sale to the state residents that's over a decade old.. Unless you're LEO or maybe military. Some dealers carry some rare stuff for LE. You can obviously get your hands on them but legally and licensed dealers are not allowed to sell to just anyone.
