If you have the funds a vortex razor or viper is hard to beat. The vortex strike eagle is a little bit more budget friendly and they will all get you to 1000 without issue.

Avoid asking advice from shops about anything gun related.
Especially with the price of proper optics, with appropriate recoil rating.

For instances, out to 1000y is subjective. Are you hitting a engine block from a deuce and 1/2, maybe the broadside of a barn? Or are you hitting a golf ball or maybe the broadside vitals of a military age male in Afghanistan…(aka an 11 year old)?

Knowing the answer to these questions will set you up to knowing what mag range you may want to be in, and the level of turret tracking accuracy you may need.

Reticle and total travel are probably the next important things, followed by glass quality being towards the end believe it or not. These optics serve the primary role of a telescopic sight, not observation devices.

Picked up the PSA Dagger and PSA Stripped AR lower. Going to make a super shorty AR pistol out of the stripped lower. Need to buy a Dagger slide, barrel, red dot and light to finish off the Dagger

I've built a half dozen Gen 3 Glocks over the years. The dagger is an improved version of the Gen 3 straight out of the box. Most of the frame mods I have done are already built into the stock frames. Most of the slide mods can be bought straight from the factory. The stock trigger in the dagger is as good as a gen 3 glock stock trigger, and the dagger accepts the Apex duty trigger, which is my go-to for my self defense Glocks. Since the patent ran out on the gen 3, many companies offer their version of the complete pistol, but PSA has hit it out of the park with the dagger. The price point is insanely cheap for everything they give you. OH.....and it eats everything I've thrown at it.....like a glock.

I will admit that the recital is a little busy if you have everything turned on, having shot 3.5moa red dots for years, but it holds zero and green is a little easier to pick pick up. I know have this unit on both my hellcat pro and my p365, and I have it's big brother the 508T on my G20. Green is growing on me.

after reading more of the reply's I'll say this. I'm unable to handle a physical altercation anymore, so I'll stick with CCW pistol of my choice. Martial arts will not protect you from some "Bad Guy" with a gun. From 5-7 yards, your Martial arts will not be of any use if they're armed. Now don't get me wrong, I watch MMA fights all the time and respect the hard work that goes into training. There are some serious "Badd Asses" out in the world I would avoid at all costs. I've learned from a few MMA friends that I know, to look for the cauliflower ear. I will always attempt to walk away from any encounter with someone wanting to do my bodily harm, but I won't tolerate someone actually putting their hands on me.

That is good to know! I picked up what Dagger Frame and Stripped AR Lower for $99, cannot beat that price. Now just waiting for a good deal on the SW1 Frame, either with or without the barrel. I'll probably order the red dot sometime this month. Trying to figure out the light, not sure I I want to to throw the O-light on it, Sig Foxtrot or TLR-7a. I really like the O-light for camping since I can recharge it and not worry about the battery. Decisions decisions decisions.

IDK if anyone touched on it, but you can most definitely practice shooting for free. There is dry fire practice, there is holster drills and so on. You don't have to shoot every day to build your skill. You can spend 15 minutes a day dry firing which will build your trigger pulls. You can spend 15 minutes a day doing holster drills, which will build your presentation. Not everything with shooting involves going to the range and shooting.

I will never trust a dagger to defend my life or my family

I stood in PSA a couple of months ago, guy next to me at the counter asked about the dagger, was shown the case model

Dead trigger, employee goes back to get another from the back...dead trigger...rinse and repeat for a total of 4 pistols before they find one that works out of the box

    Hard pass

I have been in one of the PSA Dagger groups for awhile now and the first run of Daggers had trigger issues and mag drop issues. As far as I have seen on in the groups a lot of the initial run of issues have been solved. Best thing about the daggers is that you can drop is almost any aftermarket Glock parts, including triggers. First thing I did was function test the trigger and mine feels about the same as a Glock trigger. I will definitely run it through some sessions before I start carrying it.
