I am buying a used TL3, just waiting for the guy's FFL. This will be my 3rd center fire build. Builds like these take a while due to lead times and costs, but you will love it.
Just like ARs, you will start to accumulate parts and will build yet another.
What caliber are you thinking?

I bought this on a whim, because it was priced right and a lefty. It's on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but I thought I could repurpose my 6.5 barrel and Origan action here, to build a hunting rifle, and change my PRS setup to 6GT.

 

Going to be 300prc new range goes way out and 6.5CM kinda starts to fizzle out around 1400

Not in a huge hurry as everything on this will be expensive so plan is to space it out across 2023

Does anyone want to give their recs for first handgun purchase. I own a few long guns and have shot a decent amount of handguns growing up in CA (thank god for getting out of there), however, I have now been in Colorado for a few years (yes, I have probably waited too long) and am keen on keeping one in the home/travel in the Tacoma. No concealed carry at the moment. Seems you can't go wrong with the Glock, eyeing a Smith & Wesson and M&P at the local shop near me as well. I am 6'4 240 as well to consider hand size. Should I go a few days and rent to see what feels right? Thanks for your recommendations and analysis.

 

You’re a big dude, G45 for the win, if you want smaller a G19.

 

I’m 6’4 280 and have a size 16.5 ring finger and I have 12 Glocks from G19,19X,23,26,27,30,34,43,45,48 and a few others and all fit my hands fine…..

yeah past 1,200-1,400 you are getting in to long actions,, not that one has to but defiantly nice to stay above transonic. My club is only 1,000, but when before I left the other club that was 1,200 and had plans to go further out, I was considering the same thing.

 

rent some is your best bet. M&p are decent and feel better than a glock

150rds of 5.7x28 36gr GPM
100rds of 5.7x28 34gr Black Dragon Fan

Already had a 135rds of GPM that I verified last weekend. Test mag with some SS198LF, GPM and BDF is ready to go for this weekend.
