Long range and skeet maybe? That is definitely a weird ass rule though.

Found the on a Colt forum..."Cowboy loads are made to fall under CAS maximum velocity regulations. SASS regulations require that loads are equal or less than velocities of their equivalent black powder loads. The maximum velocity for pistols is 1000fps and 1400fps for rifles, and the bullets have to be of soft lead. "

I just helped 2 of my old time buddies (Age 70) navigate the purchase process for ammo in California. Neither of these old codgers have the California "Bolden Bear" Real ID drivers license as a start. It's going to take bringing in their valid passport to the ammo store (neither one of them has) OR their Birth Certificate and $19 to get the process going. These are not rookie gun owners, these are the kind of guys I'd want in my corner if the SHF. Just spreading a little good karma for my old buddies. I've already jumped these hoops put in place by the Legislators in California with too much time on their hands.

It's an old, well-established east coast club where tradition dies slowly. THE all-time strangest range rule I have heard to date was about a range somewhere in Texas that required a shooter to use a scope for anything past 50 yards. THAT is crazy!

in pa if you use state firing range you can only have a max of 3 rounds in a magazine. private ranges can create whatever "odd" rules they like.

You all are almost as bad as California with that one. Any idea what the reasoning or logic is behind that?

Probably thought up by a homeless gentleman smoking crack under a shopping cart/tarp tent.
