I would never use reloads in a self defense gun……124 grain Federal HST is all I have ever used.

I carry self Defense insurance from 2 companies CCW Safe and VSDL and have been instructed by both to carry only Factory Stock guns and to make no enhancements to the trigger groups as It could change the dynamics just some good advice I think….

Just made my first Class III purchase and have my trust done. Hopefully some time next year I will have a can for my HK P9s and P30. Supposedly I will be able to run the TiRant on my 300blk also

    Understood.

I'm just saying, you already have a stock G19, why switch parts around?

I want the G19 with NIBX in the posted pic to be my range gun.

My other G19 all black is my current range gun at the moment with all the goodies a Fulcrum Ultimate trigger Adjustable for PRE and OVER travel on trigger pad as well as trigger pull weight and V4 Race Connector along with fully polished internals. This trigger is currently set at roughly 2.6 lb pull

So all the work is done in the frame pretty much?

Are they both pre-Gen4? If so, just switch the slides.

Yeah, you can run 300BLK through 9mm suppressors as long as your host has the same threads.

Yes,Both are Gen 3 I hate the Gen 4 grip. I thought about changing the slides but I then would have a gun with 2 serial numbers one on slide and one on frame.

All work on the gun has been to all internal parts I have yet to do any frame modifications but they are coming to this gun as I will have the trigger guard undercut and some stipple work done…

Yep, Liability Insurance for use of force. I think everyone needs it just think of Zimmerman's legal fees and it is cheap Under 180 bucks a yr for both but you need to be a resident of Va for the VSDL.But CCW Safe covers you where ever your permit is valid

I didn't need anything else so I just decided to get a Pilot 2 which was on sale for only $260 from SilencerShop. A decent 22LR suppressor for only $260 that qualifies for a $200 rebate? Sure, why not? Hoping they get some more of the Geiselle triggers than they currently carry to spend mine on. If they get the Sabra for my Tavor before I get the rebate I'll be happier than poo!

I heard this from my CCW instructor also. He happens to be a defense lawyer and a judge as well. He's also a national shooting champion. He recommended also not making any mods to your carry gun as a defense lawyer will use that info to say that you were looking for a confrontation and looking to kill someone. I don't know about y'alls but a jury of my peers doesn't instill confidence in me.

I don't use hand loads because of the fact I may have fucked something up in the reloading. There's still a chance of an FTF with factory ammo but its less.

Can someone tell me what self defense ammo is designed to do?

No modifications? So where do custom guns from makers like Jim Garthwaite fall in a that?

Do you have any examples of this actually being true? I hear it all the time but i never have actually see a case where ammo type used or gun modifications has actually been used against a person. Well other than obvious things like turning a semi auto into a full auto type things.

I mean going on that train of thought.....wouldnt using "self defense ammo" imply intent to kill too. I mean why use JHP's when you could use just plain old ball ammo. The military uses ball ammo and it works for them (sort of) so why would you use a more lethal round?

I use self defense ammo simply for the fact i dont reload JHP's. I might in the near future but the bullets cost a bit more. Instead i just wait for good deals on self defense rounds and pick up 500 or so which lasts a few years. I reload the cheap stuff to plink with

As for guns....my summer carry...a XDs 45...i havent done anything too. But my winter carry...a sig 226 has quite a few mods. SRT trigger kit and different barrel being the main two.
