    3” lift. Sway a ways 2.5 on 285 75 16 and much more
First it looks cooler but besides that its designed better. From swappable check rest to storing. Also has storage for 3 mags in the stock as well as a compartment for batteries in the grip.
    Nice compact package.

    Same crap everyone else got
What he said haha. Ruger does sell a 10/22 takedown backpacker that comes with the Magpul x-22 stock so it would be the same. I already owned this takedown and didn't want to sell it just to buy the backpacker model. Esp when I was only $170 invested into my takedown.

As of now the Illinois FOiD no longer has an expiration date, but we have our share of bullshit to put up with. With the new assault weapons ban which includes hundreds of firearms including rifles, shotguns and handguns and some ammunition and many magazines. If you owned such items before the ban, you can keep them but you’re supposed to register them with the Illinois State Police. The registration has been a massive failure, of 2.4 million FOID card holders less than 40 thousand people have registered at least one item, a compliance rate of about 1.4 percent. Unfortunately I have Alzheimer’s and seem to have forgotten where I put all of my scary guns.

I feel for you, I know lots of good folks over there too. The state isn’t what people think at all, especially the lower 3/4s.
If only you box up Chicago and ship it to Cali to get in line for sliding off in to the ocean some day,,,, not soon enough.

I don’t think the answer to your question can be adequately answered here. It’s not a simple answer and there are so many variables. There’s a lot more to it than just choosing a gun. Do this right. Find a home defense/self defense class. Go to a gun store , they have and know people who conduct various training classes. For example in my area there are many instructors that conduct classes. Private classes and group classes. For example one course that is great is the basic pistol course. It includes a few hours of class time, plus range time (minimum 150 rounds) ranges usually rent guns. You learn self defense shooting, safe handling etc. etc. Also there are seperate classes such as intermediate defense, advanced defense, concealed carry and others. Then after you have some knowledge go to a range that rents guns and try a few different guns and calibers. After you obtain your gun you need the practice, train , practice, train and practice and train some more. So bottom line is you need to educate yourself and getting a hodgepodge of information from strangers on the internet is probably not the best way to do it.
