    ALL THIS!

add to this; a good and proper belt and holster are just as important,,, if you don't have it, you can't use it.

    Pretty much this!

Also research self defense rounds! For the love of god do not run FMJ's in your defensive pistols. The amount of FMJ's I see in CCW magazines at work, hurts my head!

But research research, rent some handguns. Go to a gun show where you see a lot of handguns and see which ones feel good in your hand. Take the classes.

“Old school” load for snub revolvers is carrying Federal Match full wadcutters instead of a JHP.

These are in semi-automatic handguns in the 9mm variant, and in mostly younger people. Not the type of people that would carried a revolver. I am sure it mostly comes down to round cost for a lot of people and lack of knowledge of how ballistics work.

I have to pick on you on this one. Is there a “concealable” pistol…that is going to really “fit or “feel good” in your hand?”

Concealable for definition sake, being a sub compact catogory pistol. Does this look like it fits any normal sized dudes hand?
    IMG_2997.jpg

I know some guys carry mid size and even full size…that’s not my point. I’m just saying, if fundamentals are applied, then you chose the firearm that fits the application.

-like, I wouldn’t want to carry my 20 lb competition rifle into the mountains on a expedition hunt….
-I wouldn’t want a pistol cartridge type carbine or smg in Afghanistan
    -I don’t want to IWB a DE .50AE for CCW…
..but with good training and fundamentals…I can do work with any of these…in their intended environment or purpose.

I will stand by what I said. My buddy has a hellcat and in my hand where the magazine meets the frame it pinches my hand. I do not have that issue with my G42 or the Sig P365. So yes, get something that "fits" your hand, does mean literally fit your entire hand. I meant it as in, fits inside your hand and you have a comfortable grip with it. Obviously you may or may not have over hang on the super small micro pistols, but they can still comfortably fit in the webbing of your hand when shooting.

I think you are taking what I said to an absolute extreme. Even with proper fundamentals, not everyone hand is the same. Some guns may feel better in one persons hand vs someone else. Hence why there are different grip angles and what not. This is why you should test out how guns feel in your hand.

And one more thing run atleast a box of your defensive ammo through the gun before you trust it. Sometimes guns dont like certain rounds its rare but it happens.

This is a good point! Especially if you are looking at a G9 or a Critical Duty/Defense round. I have heard that plug in the Hornady rounds have caused issues before. Luckily no issues for me, as the Critical Duty is one of my personal favorite rounds. Heard the G9 is a good round too, but I have no experience with it.

I don’t think it’s the extreme. I’m just saying function matters and a tool that fits a niche role thus is indicative of prioritizing as such.

I would think it’s important to prioritize printing reduction, and fitting conditional attire. Women have the worst of this with form fitted clothes.
Shorts and T in the summer…different body types, etc..

This is not a sustained fire gun. Good fundamentals can over come grip angle and all that nonsense. There is technique to presentation. This is a last resort, sitting my pocket or waistband all day gun, everyday, every year. This is a “I got milk in the wrong store” gun.

If it’s uncomfortable, people are less likely to carry. If the gun is obvious, then it defeats the point of concealing…yeah?

As I’m sure you are aware, you always give up something where you gain certain features.

You totally shot(pun intended) over fitting in your hand, which I think you did because it didn't fit your argument.

Just because it is a small gun doesn't mean you can't find a comfortable gun. Like my example with the G42 vs the Hellcat. I would not choose the Hellcat because ever shot it pinches the meat my palm. However, my GF, who has child like small hands, the Hellcat might fit her hand better.

While yes it is not a sustained fire gun, you should be able to comfortably be able to shoot it. Like your example "if it’s uncomfortable, people are less likely to carry", if it is uncomfortable you are less likely to shoot and train with it.

I am well aware that everything is compromise, which is why you test gun fit. There are a ton of options for Micro pistols, each one will fit your hand differently. That is why you should test fit and how it feels when you shoot it.

Going back to my G42, it is definitely my throw in my basketball shorts gun when running out the door. I am not a huge fan of .380, but I know it fits great in my and I can shoot it effectively. I know I would not feel that way, and I would not choose to carry the Hellcat because of how it feels when I shoot it. Why would I choose that gun over my G42, when I know I don't have to worry about it pinching me. Everyone has their own personal preference, hand size and feeling of the gun. My buddy loves thicker guns and doesn't carry his G17 because it isn't think enough for his liking. Why buy a gun that you don't like the feel of?
