Yeah. I don’t understand people that don’t own multiple 22s. Do they not like to shoot a lot?

 

They’re just fun! I’d love to get a dedicated 22lr AR that would save a lot and good practice

 

Yeah, it’s nice to run thousands of rounds a year through a 22 rifle/pistol to maintain good muscle memory. Plus they are a ton of fun.

I’ve got 8 22s and shoot at least 10K rounds a year through them, and I really don’t shoot as often as I should or would like to.





It takes me 15 minutes to get to my range. This is just a random picture from a typical trip. I just throw some guns in a bag and go shoot. Fairly random what I take, but the number of 22s usually equals or exceeds center fire.

You must like cleaning more than shooting!!

 

You don’t have to clean a gun every time you shoot it, unless it’s a crappy gun.

 

Exactly! I shoot my competition rimfire 2-3 times a week, not including monthly matches, and my rifle cleaning is a monthly bolt wipe and a carbon ring soak once or twice. Suppressor gets CLR soak monthly to avoid scrapping. Minus soak times, all can be done in 10-20 minutes.

 

I bought a G19, but since this is California it’s sitting in gun jail for the next 10+ days.

You bought it just under the wire. July 1 Cali adds an additional 11% tax on all guns, parts and ammo. I bought a G19 last year, it’s become my favorite for edc and fun at the range. I have a 17 also but the 19 is just awesome.
You may want to stock up on ammo prior to July 1 also (or make a trip to Cabelas in Verdi Nevada)
