Funny what you can find if you look hard enough.

The first new rifle I ever purchased was a CZ 512 American (discontinued 2023) in .22 WMR (Winchester Magnum). I absolutely love that rifle, but felt the 5 and 10 round OEM magazines were a little anemic. I even emailed CZ-USA and suggested a 25 round mag, which they sold for the same rifles chambered in .22 LR.

Years passed and I don’t know why I even thought to do a google search for “high capacity cz 512 magazine wmr”, but I did and low-and-behold, a GunBroker seller is making them.

“Pulled the trigger” on the buy and got it to the range Saturday. It fits the mag-well extremely tightly, but once it clicks in a mag dump is twice as much fun.

These CZ 512’s didn’t take off in the market, for whatever reason, but they are fantastic rifles, .22 WMR is a great varmint round, and they are pretty cheap second hand. I may even pick up a second one.

CZ makes awesome rimfires! They could better themselves by offering more mags and actually shipping some over to support the market better.

 

new to me MDT chassis for the Bergara! its the pokey for fun distance gun, debating using it for hunting although may be a bit overkill. i just hate trying to source ammo for my childhood 270WSM
