Excellent idea, I'm assuming to prevent moisture and wicking? I was thinking about the foam used between foundations and sill plates, should accomplish the same thing with less prybar/spider gap.

Yes, to keep it from resting on the concrete and metal the two dissimilar materials will condensate safe can be pushed back and tilted forward easy with two guys I have mine on a pedestal that I made from 2X4's and 3/4 plywood.

I'd suggest making sure to bolt your safes down. With the right tools for the job, it only took one guy to move my 1600# safe into my house. I don't imagine it would be anymore difficult for that guy to remove it, but for the bolts connecting it to the concrete floor. If a safe is not bolted down, they are much easier to break into or even to be stollen. If you can knock a safe over thieves can get much better leverage to crack open a safe. If you want to use a moisture barrier between the safe and concrete, using laminate floor boards is another good material. Though your home or local climate may be problematic and need a moisture barrier, but plenty of safes get bolted right down to bare concrete without any issues.

I suggest thinking about any plumbing work you will have to do in the future before bolting down a safe right in front of it :(

That's something to consider. Though if you can open your safe, then unbolting and moving it are not impossible. It would just be a PITA, should it be installed in what is later determined to be a bad spot.
