Awesome 1911 man. I had one years ago and sold it and now I need another one. For my money I'm not sure it gets much better than a Wilson Combat CQB Elite. I kind of want a Spec-Ops 9 but what I probably need is a CQB Elite.

Bought a couple of these to illuminate my chrono diffusers for indoor shooting when I don't feel like driving all the way out to the big range.

Thanks. I almost went with a Dan Wesson Valor, but the local place only had the VBob, I wanted full size to get into competition shooting, and the WC fit is beautiful. I figured...what the hell. I won't likely be getting another 1911 for the next 20 years, so I might as well get the one I want. Dividing the cost by 20 years helps justify it to myself. It has surprisingly little muzzle flip considering its weight. Not sure how much, is any of this is the reverse crown barrel, or if its just my imagination.

My other 1911 is the Sig Sauer Tacops, and my wife has the Sig Molon Labe 1911. Both of which are great to shoot, too, but not quite as tight for competition.

Imo it would depend on you're current collection of calibers, ammo stock and your future use of the weapon. Do you have a reliable 5.56 already? 5.56 is a far more common round to find on the shelves. Cheaper to fire. Fun to shoot(i know, so is .300 :)).

Suppressed SBR is the only good reason IMO. It's what the round was developed for & it works wonderful for that purpose. Square peg. Square hole.

it's banned for import but there is still a lot already in the states that aren't sold yet.

Here is a ballistics profile of 5.45x49 vs 556 and x39:

For an SBR? BLK all the way. That's where it shines. But I'd go shorter; 9" is about right when you're talking BLK.

Bought 250 rounds of 147 grain 9mm. Quiet stuff for messing around with my suppressor.

Sometimes it doesn't. My buddy has an SBR'd Noveske and he has problems with baffle strikes on his can. Keyholes at 100 meters every time. The shoulder is true, the can is true, but there is clearly smeared copper on the baffles. Can works great on his .308 surgeon rifle, and the Noveske 11.5 shoots great without a can. Our theory is the round isn't stable coming out of the tube, especially when subsonic. There's a lot of coin tied up in that failed experiment.

So it only keyholes with the can on? First time I've ever heard of that.
