I live with a woman (really this should be explanation enough) who thinks I have too much ammunition as it is, and she can't see it right now.
If I fill up a bunch of ammo cans and bolt them all over the cellar floor there'll be no living with her.

    Hm...
I hadn't thought of one of those. Maybe I'll swing by TSC after work tonight and see what they've got.
One of those that locks would weigh a veritable fuckton after I filled it with my stockpile...

I looked at those recently but have started leaning more towards an XMD 4.5", or maybe a 4" CZ. I am going to a local gun show tomorrow to check out several options.

For my ammo, I use one of those stack-on locker things, that look like a safe but suck as a safe.

Yeah, right now I use a Stack-On 10-gun safe. It's an actual safe, not the flimsy sheet steel cabinet. But I have reached a point that I can't fit all of the ammunition into it in a way that the ammo is still accessible. I've got some shelves I built as a stopgap a while ago in there, but I've reached a point that I've got so much variety and volume that I literally can't fit it all without overlapping calibers/gauges and that drives the organizational Nazi in me crazy.

Most of the guns live in one of these, along with spare mags and a bunch of ammunition overflow:

The bulk of the ammunition lives in the Stack-On equivalent of this:

Freedommuntions just dropped their prices too, $202.65 per 1000 and $5 flat rate shipping for over $200 spent. Shipping is really reasonable for lower amounts though, I had 250rds of 9mm and 300rds of .223 shipped for $9...

And that's for their "new" ammo.
Their reman ammo is $184.39 per 1000. They even have a cheap hollow point version for $195 and $205 per 1000.

I know, my though process in regards to my next hand gun is all over the place. I actually have an XD 40 sub compact for concealment and love it, I'm looking for a 9mm this time & think the new mod2 grip is nice, I only considered it because I know I like the platform.

I will more than likely go with a full framed pistol though. I really need to go shoot the XDM, I am hoping it has a lot of the same characteristics I like about my sub compact.

Yes. It has a lot to do with where on your waist you carry it and what holster you use. I used to carry a full-size 1911 and a Glock 17 with no problems.

i carry a Sig p226 a lot during the winter and cooler months here in WA> Pretty much anytime im not wearing just a t-shirt. Carry's just fine and is plenty comfortable. I carry in the 7-8 o clock position. Having a good belt helps a lot too.
