    If I can get ~$400 for it in trade (never traded a gun in so I have no idea on values) I'd do it. Otherwise I'd try to sell it privately for ~$450.

    I hear you. I think 50.00 is well worth allowing the gunshop to assume the liability of selling the gun to an individual. Not sure of your private sale laws but here it is more or less a free for all, if they have cash, they get gun with no required paperwork. I personally do not care for that system.
    I used to get a new Blue book every year until it became far easier to watch the sales/auctions on Gun Brokers.

    The shop I handled the vp9 had a fns in stock for $580, looking online the majority are in the $550 to $575 range. I don't know if $400 is reasonable for a lnib trade value.
