Bought a glock 17 today....I feel like a traitor. I'm a John browning and non polymer guy through and through...

But then again...I won't feel bad for too long...it won't have many glock parts on it when I get done

Nobody is trying to build an arsenal when they buy their first handgun, lol. That comes later.

    Hand feel means shit.

Go to a range, rent as many as you can, and buy what you're accurate with. Major companies offerings are dead reliable so don't buy into any marketing or fanboys.

    So?

If you're going to be using it in a defensive situation, you'll want to be holding what you're most accurate with.

If you're good with multiple pistols, go with the comfort.

If you miss everytime you can beat them with it, too. Then stomp around like Jim Duggan.

I like my XD45 loads better than my Glock22. But the 20+ rounds of .40 are more fun.

If you thought the XD felt like a 2x4, don't try the glock haha.

Maybe also try a M&P Shield. Very nice ergos.

As far as the grip safetly on the XD, I've never even noticed it while shooting. Maybe it's a mental thing you can't get over.

Look at Walthers (not the CCP) HKs and CZ-75s if you care about the best ergos ever.

Not sure as of now. My buddy did pick one up (10 rd mag of course) last November.

I think as long as it has a loaded chamber indicator and external safety, it is good to go.

The Walther PPS M2 is by far the most comfortable gun I've ever held.

Trust me you won't be disappointed. It eats any and all ammo without a snag. Take down is glock-like and the tolerances in the gun are extremely tight for a $400 firearm.

I just wish there was a range near me that rented single stack 9s so I wouldn't have to keep buying and selling them haha.

So far XDs, Shield, P938....still lookin for my unicorn.

I've had the opportunity to shoot the XDs and Shield but the ergos of the PPS M2 made the choice easy. I just wish the mags weren't so damn expensive and had better availability but they're working on getting big batches of the 8 round mags shipping out soon. I've read that Mecgar is the manufacturer for those so I have no doubts about the quality of them.
