    I really hope you're joking about that! Xd's don't compare to a good 1911!

I havnt had it out to the range yet however i have a few observations.

Coming from a Steyr Aug A3/sa that has been my "go to" rifle for the last 3-4 years there are a couple issues that ive noticed right away.

Its not as balanced to me as my Aug.

Ive not checked the weight but im certain my Aug was lighter.

The trigger feels like crap. My Aug trigger was crap too till i switched to a ratworx 20/20 aluminum sear. That litterally was the only issue that i had with my Aug.

The Aug broke down into 6 groups in less than a minute for cleaning. Magazine, trigger, barrel, stock, upper and bolt carrier groups.
The Tavor...trigger pack and bolt carrier.

I could swap out a 16in barrel with a 20in in about 7 secs with the Aug. Not gonna happen with the Tavor.

The bolt carrier release...to me anyway, seems in a weird place. Behind and below the magazine and its plastic. The Aug was a metal clip on the side. Very easy to get to.

Im sure after i get out and shoot a few hundred rnds thru it my opinions will change.
The trigger is a known issue just as Aug trigger was. If im not mistaken, the trigger pack is all metal parts and directly connected in the Tavor. The Aug was all plastic and connected to the trigger via a metal rod.

Ill give a better review after range day.
Im sure ill easily get over some of the gripes that i currently have then. Or ill turn it for a loss.

I purchased it with money from selling my Aug so its not like i used man hour money or savings to buy it.
Lmk if youre interested in a very lightly used Tavor if it turns out this rifle doesnt suit me :)

Sorry for the weird paragraphs, currently on my phone.

    Cheers.

    Yea, a $500 XD isn't as attractive as a $1500 1911.

But grip (and safety) etc makes the XD line the closest to a 1911.

This month I've got two silencers sitting in ATF jail waiting on Form 4 approval. I was wanting to beat the new regulations. These will be my first silencers and I'm looking forward to them.

I've got a Springfield RO and it is probably my favorite hand gun. A close second below. 161.jpg 20150208_115329.jpg

Xd's aren't attractive to me at all. I can't shoot them for shit. There's only one Springfield firearm I'd spend .y money on and that's my M1A in my gun safe. But there's not much room to compare a 1911 to a polymer gun. A $500 1911 is still better the a xd.
But I'll stick with my HK's. Far superior.

 Nearly went with one of those for my first AR myself, actually. In large part because of
    VVVVV
However, he also gave a really nice review of the M&P Sport, which I ended up going with.

Speaking of Hickok45, I wish he'd invite me to shoot at his property. I bought a whole 100 rounds of .357's Saturday. Can't wait to fire them.

Honestly, it's a toss up between the AR-556 and the Sport and would have been happy with either. I think the trigger may be better on the Sport, and the assembly a bit tighter on the AR-556. The good thing is you can't go wrong with either!

LOL. You are most definitely not in California. We can only buy 1 hand gun and 1 long gun every 30 days.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
1 in 30 only applies to new handgun purchases but the talks on rifle/shotgun is still up in the air. When I buy a handgun, I also throw in a stripped lower or two on my DROS.

Picked this up today. Time to start building...slowly. The Honey Badger was the unofficial shop mascot at my last unit so there's a little bit of sentiment in the lower.

Did you get the handguard directly from manticore? And thats the "overwatch" rail on top correct?
You do have the ability for a flashlight in the hanguard with the kit, im assuming.

I think this is the direction im going.
