I like my Mosin, but unfortunately we have to clean them like Blackpowder when using ammo like that

Soldered, probably. Typically that's how they sealed them.

No, it's not welded. It opens with a key like a Spam can. Not the quickest or easiest way of doing things but it is weatherproof. I think it's Hungarian.

A quick rinse out with Windex with ammonia and then a complete cleaning when I get home and it's no worries. It was a good deal so I couldn't pass it up.600 rounds for 200 bucks seemed pretty good to me

    Oops.
My G26 was lonely. So now he has a little brother to pick on.
    G43. (slimline 9mm)
The G26 is small, but I'm a little guy myself. Just above 5 feet tall, and 88 pounds. The G26 is easily concealable for me in cooler weather, but in deep summer, when it's 100 degrees and I'm trying to wear as little as possible, it is not ideal.

Will be installing the Siderlock trigger as soon as possible.

Always forget how much more slim the G42/43 is compared to the G26/27. Great conceal carry piece. Hope you enjoy yours!

Nice! I've got similar twins but in .45

Yeah! I didn't think it would be that big of a difference, but when I held the two of em together, the difference was crazy. It's not much shorter in barrel or height, but that slimness in profile is exactly what I needed. Loving it already!

Wow! Very nice. The difference in length between those two is unreal! I don't think I could ever get away with trying to conceal a full-size.
Edit: What kind of holster is that on the top?

It's made of kydex by someone or another, can't remember who and there is no name on it.

It is rather uncomfortable and I actually like the bolt on belt clip better. You can see it in this photo-
    8715516B-A67F-4C57-8B0D-AB37D0786FB2_zps_ff1d5003548dc382aff7296a4a1ceab92a6bf699.jpg

I shoot better with the 30s than I do the full size. It handles and fits perfect for me. I may ditch the SF21 all together.

They call that the clipdraw, don't they? I was thinking about doing that, but the Bladetech holster I usually have on isn't too bad. I feel strange without it! Got the same one for the G43.

    Holsters.jpg

The only issue I have is that because I appendix carry, and I'm always doing physical labor (thus I am always drenched in sweat) sweat likes to get in. I've got a tiny rust spot forming on the slide of the G26. But I think that'll happen with any kind of appendix holster.

Yeah clipdraw is it. I'm usually SOB or just off SOB and it works well. I also hike a lot with a daypack and it clips nicely do the inside of my hip belt at a crossdraw position, which is perfect for that situation (for me).

Opinions are pretty varied on the clipdraw, but for me it works well in a number of applications, so I'll stick with it for now.

I envy you guys that live in states where you actually can CC, not so much here in Maryland. In a few years I hope to retire and Ill be packing my bags for a more 2A friendly state.

Hell you don't need a permit to conceal carry in the county here, just in city limits.

Here is the exception to our CCW rules:
    (i) a person who is outside the official boundaries of a city or town or the confines of a logging, lumbering, mining, or railroad camp or who is lawfully engaged in hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, hiking, backpacking, farming, ranching, or other outdoor activity in which weapons are often carried for recreation or protection;

Basically if you are out and about, not in the city limit or in a bar or working camp you are permitted to carry.

Nice! I picked up a 43 a few weeks ago. I put a HyveTechnologies +2 mag extension on mine along with a Vickers Tactical 3.5lb trigger bar. I love it.

That is pretty awesome to have such lax CC laws where you are. In California its pretty challenging to get a CCW permit, and I am fortunate enough to live in a county of CA where its permitted. Our county sheriff is an awesome dude who thinks people should be armed. A good chunk of the rest of the state won't allow you to have a CC permit, especially if you don't have a good enough reason why you need it.

That's unfortunate to hear about the rust spot starting to form. I have a older generation G22 with the different finish on the slide, and it has been through hell and back, with my father also carrying it for about 10 years as a LEO before he gave it to me. The finish has held up outstanding, and there is only a couple small scuffs on it. Not a big fan of the newer coatings on the Glocks.
