How much was that trigger bar? Eventually going to be doing upgrades to mine, once my wallet recuperates from the initial shock. :D

I've heard that it is a big problem with Gen 4s. I've got a buddy (he's about ten years older than me) who was a Riverine, and he's had his EDC for over 10 years now. You can tell the gun's been through a lot, but it's held up very well. He's a lot like me, in that he's always doing work that gets him sweaty and grimy. He's got a couple scratches on his, but has had a long time to accumulate them. I've only had my G26 since the beginning of March, and I've got scratches, holster wear, and that bit of rust. I clean it at least once a week, and every time I shoot it. I think there's something up with the coatings on the 4th gens.
But getting the G43 gives me the option of getting the slide for the G26 sent off to be coated and still have an EDC, so I think that's gonna happen next paycheck. Then I'll get the G43 done some time after that. Wanna stop the G26's rust issues before it gets worse.

Let me chime in if I may. I have a Gen3 Glock 23 that I purchased at least 10-12 yrs ago. In the past 3 months I purchased a 30s and a Gen4 19 model. I noticed immediately the differences in the finishes on the slides between my 23 and the 2 newer ones I recently purchased. Not sure what changed specifically, but definitely doesn't appear as durable of a coating as my 23. I have really beat on my 23 and it still looks like the day I bought it. However, I really don't care if they get SOME wear, I compare it to our trucks, meaning, I wanna be able to beat on it a bit and know it will still operate flawlessly when I need it. A few scratches or holster wear won't hurt (after all it is a GLOCK). Plus, I'll just cerakote the slide if it starts to bother me. Just my 2 cents. Now you have me wanting a 43! Thanks a lot! I'll blame it on you when I tell my wife I'm buying another GLOCK.

 I'll take the blame, she doesn't know where I live... or at least I hope not! :D
I'm not too godawful worried about the scratches and holster rash, but the rust is a bit alarming. I am the second owner of the G26, (the G43 is brand new) but the guy that had it before me, a Navy guy, took really good care of it, hardly shot it, and it only had one small scratch on the slide. But I've "destroyed" it in a matter of five/six months. Granted, I am very hard on guns- well, I destroy everything. There's a reason all my clothes are full of holes and dirt, why I end up buying new shoes every two months, and why my glasses stay in my truck instead of on my face. (I am capable of breaking those crazy strong sports glasses that look like goggles in less than two weeks, if that tells you anything.) But my buddy with the Gen 3 is the same way, if not worse, and his is still in great shape for the most part. I do believe he's been through a few barrels though. :D
Destructive tendencies aside, I really do think they have thinner coatings. I think that I'm gonna get both of em coated here in the near future, just gotta figure out who does the best job for a price that won't murder my wallet. :D Know of any good ones?

You sound a lot like me when it comes to "destroying" things or just being rough on them in general! But then again that's why we chose GLOCKS and Tacomas right? Like a good 'ol reliable, loyal dog. As for cerakote, I'm in The Lone Star State, I have a couple decently reviewed places near me that do it, haven't tried them....yet. As far as the awesomely wonderful state of VIRGINIA (born and raised just southwest of ya in Kentucky) I don't know. You could always try diy. I have seen some pretty decent videos on how to do it "in house", seems fairly easy if you know how to really "strip" your slide. But you have to either blast it with a medium or take steel wool to it, just don't have the need or balls to do it quite yet. They have some pretty cool colors too. Tactical gray, FDE, OD GREEN, ETC.

Yup, same reason I own Yotas! I know there is one place on the other side of the water that does it, (about an hour drive) so that's an option, but I'm gonna see if I can talk to one of my friends' father, who does hydrodipping and graphics. He might be able to do it. He's done motorcycles, helmets, guns, deer skulls- his work is pretty amazing. He would probably be able to do it better than I could.
I'm thinking either OD Green or Coyote Tan.

For those with the g43, does its trigger feel way mushy and not crisp like your others. My 23 27 etc feel so much better than wife's 43.

http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/base-pad-for-glock-43/ is also a good option. They have a +1 pad that adds pretty much no height to the mag. And lots of color options so you could match the extension to the slide

Do these leave any slop between the mag and the mag well. I have an extension on one of my g26's mags and it rattles and moves around a lot

I can't speak for that brand but the +2 I got from hyvetechnologies is a very snug fit with no gap or looseness. I think they have a +1 extension as well. They come in multiple colors too.

I didn't really notice much of a difference between the G27 I have (bought it brand new) and the G43 trigger wise to be honest. Although, the G27 trigger is stiff as hell in my opinion. My trigger finger starts to hurt after a couple of hours on the range with it. My G22 though, I could shoot it all day and not feel the trigger finger "pinch". I know the newer guns need a breaking in period and sometimes can be extra stiff, but it still sucks. Could be true with your wife's G43 though, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a bit on the mushy side.

My g43 trigger feels just as crisp as my G26 and (now gone) G19. More so than my G21 was, it was a gen 3 though.

Not too shabby. Sounds like you will be set for life now with your G19.
