Long overdue purchase....Picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9. Will be a great piece for Concealed Carry.

They are nice, I had looked into the Performance Center version of the shield, Honestly, I was let down by the lack of round count. It just seemed like they could've set it up just a little bit different to get more rounds in. Jmo

I could see where you would be disappointed. For how small the Shield9 is, I was happy to know it can hold up to 8 in the mag. I'll take that number any day of the week in a size like the shield. I know quite a few guys and gals carry a second magazine on them as well, regardless of the CC piece they are carrying, so that only helps the situation and is usually a win-win. I don't carry a second mag, so what's in the firearm is what I have.

I have a shield and a PPSm2. Yes they're small and don't hold much, but that's kinda the intention of them. You can wear a t-shirt that fits and not print. For winter carry a full size will work just fine

Lol, I am sure there are plenty of Competent gunsmiths there on the West Coast that could help you out.

Ordered extra magazines for the GF's Ruger P90 so she can be safer while hunting.

Also got an extended slide stop from Wilson Combat for my Ruger SR1911. Dropped right in without any modifying! :D Much easier to lock the slide to the rear now.

I have a coyote tan keltec PF9 that I have worked the hell out of that is my summer holster Carry and a Keltec P380 that I carry in my pocket for the smallest of summer Carry and an XDS 9 for the rest of the time. Maybe I frowned on the shield because I'm just not in the market for another carry gun

I will say, taking 5 1/2 inches off the front and adding a break has made this the second loudest gun I have ever owned

I have both. Like them both.

I think 7+1 is pretty impressive for a gun that size. I have a CCO size 1911 in 9mm that's lots bigger & heavier and it's 8+1. Heck - I carry the shield in khakis just like I did my snubbie 38 before it, and it held 5. Going from 5 to 8 is significant to me - it's a 60% increase in round count.

Here in CA IMO the choice for a wee gun is easy. 10 round limit for mags. Glock 26, 10 round capacity. Sadly the g23 is LEO only, but I'm not sure the tiny advantage in width is worth the extra rounds anyway.

Yeah I daily carry a G27 (same dimensions as G26) right now, but it's just too fat and heavy for me. 9+1 isn't bad for how powerful the .40 can be IMO, but I am opting for the shield9 for daily carry, as the dimensions fit my body much better then the baby glock does. I'll lose an extra round and move down to a smaller hitting bullet if it means I can be more comfortable on a daily basis. I'll keep the G27 for camping. Also, the G23 is not LEO only, unless you meant the G43. Lol. And you can still get one of those as well, you just have to jump through a couple more hoops to get it. Or know a LEO who wants to sell theirs.
