I have several of those, because of the unique color I use them for special ammo.

    Picked this up today.

I only bought a couple X-Tech magazines and some 7.62x39. My girlfriend on the other hand purchased a Lee Armory M10-762. A Romanian made AK! My birthday came early this year!

I would agree... you do need some!

I even had help packing them for long term storage.

Yeah he was even more interested in the stripper clips and dry packs.

They do fit and stack pretty good. Never been a huge fan of metal cans, even in crates they are a pain in the ass.

I would like to legit join this thread, and to do so I need help buying something firearms related (I have done a lot of buying this summer, just not in the last week). Where do you guys/gals shop for used firearms? I have been trying to buy a used pistol for CCW. Figured I'd try gunbroker, but once I add up the shipping and FFL fees, all the pistols end up costing full retail. I'm looking at an HK vp9sk, shield, PM9, LC9s, in that order. Its crazy how pistols hold their value. I don't have these issues with bolt action rifles. Seems like if you shoot a bolt action once the price drops by half, but if you shoot pistol for five years its like maybe $25 less.

Assuming I cant find a lightly used pistol for half off, where do you guys/gals buy your new firearms? I noticed buds gun shop seems to have the best prices, but literally the worst possible reviews of any gun shop I've researched to the point most conclude its not worth the pain in the ass. Cheaperthandirt.com seems reputable... Anyone live in Colorado and have recommendations on shops with fair prices? Ive found lots with unfair prices.

Maybe I’m just paranoid but I buy used from places like Cabela’s (big selection actually). I want someone to make it right if it turns out to be a stolen gun. I always check before or after purchase. Contrary to belief, most places don’t and/or don’t have to run sn’s with the sheriffs office.

Hit or miss. They will haggle a little sometimes. Again, I’m paranoid with guns so I’d rather pay a bit more at a place that will back a clean and useable gun.

Used guns can vary a lot from one place to the next on cost. Try posting in the Colorado thread also. Best places will come from someone local that shops a place a lot. The other place we have here that I’d use is a hole in the wall that I wouldn’t even go in if a deputy didn’t recommend it.

I'll probably wait a week until I get outbid on gunbroker and then buy new. Its a time thing. I can spend 100 hours trying to find a used pistol I think is an acceptable deal, only to save $100-200. I'm not sure that a good use of my time. I like shooting, not shopping.

Smart man. That’s usually how I am. Besides then I know what’s been put through it. I’ve seen guns explode, rather it not be pistol in my hand.

Not trying to be a dick to the other poster but no. Not good prices on new stuff and they usually dont know shit. You gotta put it on yourself to know what you know and strike while the iron is hot. Research and search. I have a local shop thats cool but they can have super high prices on some stuff and fair prices on others. Ive also done armslist and gunshows with success. Again you gotta have an idea of what stuff cost and what you are willing to spend. My supervisor has a bought alot through PSA but he knows someone thats does his transfers.

    No offense taken.

Prices are hit or miss, as is knowledge. They price match just like any other big chain. No reason to buy new for more then MSRP from anywhere.

Ive done my research in terms of renting each of the guns I posted in my previous post, put rounds through them, I know what I like. This will be my first pistol, and I've been told that once I buy one, I'll buy another... and another... and another. My intentions are to try to be economical, but the time it takes to economically buy a gun is crazy. I'm going to buy new and buy less often. Like I said before, I'd rather shoot than shop.
