Mine is actually a "C1"... a new/fake A1 . It is top quality and you can't beat the price for $25

They are sexy and really feel good in your hand..super light too. Little pricey, but they always have a good discount for every major holiday.

Mounted. For mounting/leveling on rails, I simply use a 1" wide piece of metal and use that as a gauge between mount or rail (with rings) and flat section on bottom of turret to level/align with the receiver. Works perfectly every time. Confirmed with bubble level of course.

With the 2-7 scope I put on it it shoots great. Acquisition is almost as quick as a red dot and nice little bit of magnification. The rig shoots less than 2 MOA with nothing special ammo. I'm hoping to get it to 1moa with some handloads.

I'm finally getting around to wanting to put an optic back on my AR rifle but no one has an Aimpoint T2 in stock because of the coronavirus scare. I regret ever selling off the ACOG before buying something to replace it with.

Well shoot. That's the stock setup I've been looking for all this time.

I should wait for my MK3 to come in.

optics planet always has them in stock and good pricing or LaRue (but you will pay a premium).
I would not buy any high end optic from ebay or Amazon...there are tons of fakes on the market nowadays.

I have a t-2 and CompML2 and I prefer my old Aimpint compML2 (Pro). It just easier to turn on/off and flip the covers up.

Good point about fakes on eBay...I agree. But there are many authorized dealers selling there as well. I only purchase from them and have never had an issue.

LaRue was sold out, that is typically where I buy my optics as I like their mounts. I happened to glance at Brownells and they had some in stock so... Not the mount I'd prefer but I can always swap it out if I don't like their LRP.

And you are right, I'd be extremely careful about buying anything on ebay. Lots of fakes and you really never know what condition they are in.

I originally had a M4S on this rifle, but swapped it for a ACOG, put the M4S on a pistol... which I no longer have. So now the rifle is back to being the primary home defense gun, and the ACOG at 3.5 was a bit too much for that.

Amazon and a few other places has the m5. Just a little bigger than the t2. Brownells has the T2. Not sure if you want a mount for cowitness or not.

Unfortunately I never got around to trying the m5 out, as I’m more comfortable with eotech myself, despite the sub par battery life.

Thanks, yes. I did place an order with Brownells for the T2 with the cowitness mount. I wish they gave a discount for Aimpoint products, oh well, at least I know its authentic. The Eotech battery life is the one thing that has always steered me away from buying one. If I ever buy another shotgun I might put a eotech on that.

I used eotechs in the military, I never even thought about battery life till I had my own arsenal. By then, I realized I already had my muscle memory built up and it was easier to use things I was already use to. Eotech has non-measurable (no) parallax, and I like the wider fov. Past that, poa/poi per zero is all the same, with the exception that on the 60 moa ring, the bottom is crosshair is for about 0-10y w/ consideration to height-over-bore. Not that big a deal really.

Did you find much use for the 60 moa ring?

I got out before Aimpoint took off, and never got to try out a Eotech as by that time I was back in the states and had a change of jobs. Not that being in the Air Force we got to play much with weapons except while I was in Korea.

I did personally. Other guys have done extremely well aimpoint.
Just don’t have to think about height over bore as much. Red dots you just need to know your offset. Usually with a 25m zero, it’s top of hair line to put one in the ol’ T-box within 7m. On the 60 Moa ring, you just use the the bottom ring for 7 yards and in. 50m zero is center dot for 50/200 and the ring is 7/500m. Either way it can all be trained out I’m sure.

    Question folks.

So shooting higher grants ammo vs lower grain.

Does the night shoot hotter and lessen barrel life?
Or does higher grain shoot better and burn cleaner creating less heat and longer barrel life?

I wouldn't think bullet weight would matter all that much for barrel life. Maybe you could erode the barrel shooting super light and hot loaded rounds but I don't see it being a huge difference.

The heavier causes more wear and tear on the barrel overall.
This has to do with total pressure+ heat by the throat. Throat erosion will usually occur before the lands and grooves wear, and the throat is where all the boom is at combining heat and pressure.
