Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Picked up something that I never should have parted with in the first place.... Ruger Mini 14. A quite a bit newer but still similar...
    2020-05-09 11.58.59.jpg
I wanted an AR just to give the middle finger to our governor. But the mini 14 is something I've wanted for a while, and had a little more meaning to me. Still kind of a F you to Coumo tho.

I was looking into these. I need a light weight handgun to holster on my atv using a ram mount. How do you like it? What price range was it?

I bought one just like that back in the '90's, and sold it before I ever shot it.:( Regretted ever since.

    I like mine.

Haven't shot one in a while, but I always have fun with it.

That's almost my exact story. If I put 25 rounds through mine, I'd be surprised. It would have been '96 or '97 for me.

Trigger reset is great. Has an optic cutout for a red dot. Typically goes for $380. Plus our tax here. $415 out the door.

Never regreted getting rid of my mini14, after getting the ar15 back in 1998.
Was a cool little gun though tons of aftermarket parts even back in the 90's.
Watch out for the ejected casings, they fly out at high velocity.
A buddy cracked his toyota pickup windshield and hit me in the face shooting out the driverside window... was on private property.

BCG, Barrel, muzzle brake and some ammo came in this weekend. Now just need a decent glass to stick on top.

I have a bunch of people who ask about what rounds I carry or how do I choose a round. I usually reply that I carry what the FBI carries, because when it comes to the legal issues that ensue after and engagement, the defense can not contest that I am carrying rounds that are "more deadly." The point being, you want to carry the best performing round for your particular platform. The FBI's own testing data is available to the public. Also, I have found this site, although not perfect, is pretty comprehensive about testing round performance in a standard FBI test, and it is regularly updated as new rounds/loads come to mass market and law enforcement.

With being bored at home I have been playing with the mantisx system and it’s been pretty fun so far. If you have been doing some dry firing this isn’t bad for more feedback. I took it out to the desert on my L9 this last weekend and it worked pretty good, mimicked what I saw on steel

The slide I bought 3 days ago finally arrived. I'll probably get a new barrel soon that's not black. Didn't have time to install the rear sight last night....

Signed up for the "back in stock" notification from Scalarworks on the Trijicon MRO (green) mount combo (lower 1/3). Received the email today and placed the order in about 3 milliseconds.
