Nice score! 6.8SPC components weren't all that common before this mess, so I stocked up a little. I've still got some 110s on order.

Thanks! I’ve got some 100 grain accubonds on the way and an acquaintance who works in the industry is supposed to send me a flat rate box of pulled 90 grain gold dots. I wanted to stick with the lighter projectiles since I’ll be shooting from a 12.5” barrel, hopefully with the ARP barrel and hand loads I can get some good performance.

Nice, 12.5" gonna have lil bark haha.
I found a little jewel unfired on GB a year or so ago, it's a 14.7" with a pinned and welded brake, it's a PSA, but the CHF with the FN barrel. I've had it out to 800 yards, not serious just messing around hitting the big board while the other rifle cools.

Last time I bought 6.8 brass was from SSA, before Nosler bought them. I load them with 90g Sierra Varminter heads. 2200fps out of a 10.5" Lothar Walther barrel with H322.

Nice! I had a 16” before the 12.5” but I only put 150-200 rounds through it before I went 12.5, I think the farthest I can shoot right now is about 200 yards.

Where do you get your reloading data from? I’m using a Hornady and Lyman manual, and getting powder recommendations from the 6.8 forum, it seems like there’s not a ton of data for the 12.5” barrel.

I've never seen any published load data for short barrels. I just use whatever is in the books, or Hodgedons website. Obviously velocity is going to be lower. I have a chronograph so I never pay much attention to published velocities anyway.

I've tried lots of powder in 6.8. 322 is the best, and H335 is close second.

I’ll check with my supplier and see if he has 322, I know he has H335.
I appreciate the info, I would like a chronograph but unless it’s a Christmas present I won’t get one until next year.

My Pro Chrono PAL was $89. IMO, there's no need to drop hundreds of dollars on LabRadar or magnetospeed doo dads. Velocity is velocity. If you have suppressors and need subsonic loads, a chrono is an absolute must.

Send me a PM and I can forward excel spreadsheets of data I've gathered over the last 20 years.

It matters to some of us who need ACTUAL to the fps velocity numbers and BC information for making drop tables, measuring ES, SDs, etc.
On a personal note, it was annoying and I spent many range days like a psychopathic packing dip, and cussing up a storm various threats to my optical chronos because of the general inconvenience of setting them up, getting the light conditions right and then of course I’ve shot two on accident. One because I was angry.

My blood pressure, and my social life has been greatly better by the use of magnetospeed and the need for use of nicotine has decreased. Thus the quality of life has increased over all. :D

I know math and can use a calculator. You can buy a lot of calculators for what a labradar costs.

A regular optical chronograph provides just as accurate velocity as anything else, if not, please tell me why.

I'd argue that if you have trouble making a regular optical chrono work, your going to have a tough time with a labradar.....

    What math do you know?

It does not. Why: the logic built into optical chronos always assumes that the bullets travel is perpendicular to the sky screens. This alone is not always the case. I’m sure you are aware to use your calculator or whatever to offset the distance since most people will shoot at about 10ft minimum. So the issue is that chronograph always assumes that the bullet is traveling the true distance from sensor A over to sensor B. This is rarely the case. And surely isn’t the case from shot to shot.

Again no. The labradar is acoustically turned on and obviously uses Doppler radar. The biggest issue you would have is if someone is shooting next to you which there is a way to set the acoustic sensitivity. You don’t need to hold up the line and level your chrono, and make sure you diffusers are set properly then get error codes with half your load because the sun is out.

Magnetospeed is even easier; and it’s not in dispute. From 3rd party testing to my own findings it is 99.9% accurate... it doesn’t get any better than that. No need for a coffin cave to get the light just right on a 10 shot average.
