When did toolcraft start marking their BCG's like that?

 

They have been making NiB BCGs for years. I have a couple NiB 308 BCGs that are about 5 years old.

 

I knew they have made them for a long time, I've just never seen one with the "toolcraft" marking on the side like that. All the ones i've seen have been blank.

Even when i google image search toolcraft NiB BCG, it shows all pics of blank ones.

Edit: had to google toolcraft priemum nib bcg to find a pic of one.

Yeah, that seems to be the only place I saw the sold the "toolcraft premium logo'd bcg". I like it!

Found myself 200 rds of eldx for my 6.5 Got some gmx delivered yesterday. Should have a test box of some DRT ammo arriving tomorrow. Some test boxes of bergers and 130gr accubonds too. Ammo procurement hasn't been so bad. Now I just gotta shoot the damn thing!!

 

I swapped the grip on my 15-22 from the MOE-SL it came with to a MOE-K just now. I didn't dig how the SL beavertail had a gap on that lower, the MOE-K lacks the tail and parks up in there really nice.

As a heads up to anyone else with one of these:

1. There are double the springs to potentially set free when you remove the grip (be mindful). The detent springs for both the safety and rear takedown pin are hidden under the grip. The 15-22 lower and buffer tube is all one molded piece so the rear pin has nowhere to go but in the grip. The rear takedown pin spring wants to pop out of place as you put the grip back on.

2. Pull out your bolt carrier and look at it - on mine the BCG spring (and the hammer face) was covered in some kind of flaky white crap. I called S&W customer service and they told me to clean it off. Getting that shit off the spring was a mild pain in the ass.

 

I wonder if that is just on the new 15-22 pistol models with the brace and tube. The old pistols didn't have a tube at all. and I don't remember there being 2 springs in the grip on my 15-22 rifle.

Managed to grab 5 boxes of Remington 9mm at $17.99/box. It was like Black Friday with the line outside before they opened. I need to score some .40 & .38/.357.

 

I was surprised to see two springs - on a regular AR that rear takedown pin goes in from the back and the end plate/castle nut keep it in there. The two springs push back pretty hard when replacing the grip and the rear pin spring wants to escape pretty bad.

 

No picture, but I just sent a Form 1 to SBR my Scorpion. I'm sure I screwed something up and it'll get kicked back, but it's good to know that the NFA is keeping us all safe from ourselves.

 

I'll have to check my 15-22 rifle to see if it's the same way.
