Buy! Buy now! Mags, ammo, guns, buy it all now!!! o_O
We have never seen panic buying before. o_O

I'll bet a dollar to a donut that 99.999% of the posters here will never need more than 1 ONE mag to save their life or the lives of loved ones. The 1st shot is the 1 that counts, the rest are just followup misses. 'cept zombies lol

This isn't about self defense, it's about shooting as a hobby and parts being not allowed or not available in the future so you have to ensure that you have what you need to continue your hobby

Also, in defensive situations redundancy increases your likelihood to survive a deadly force incident

Spare mags are the norm now and should always be carried as that is the first point of failure and the easiest fix

Change gun parts to truck parts

Let's imagine Toyota and other larger parts manufacturers said they're going to stop supporting 1st gen truck parts

But you love your first gen and your truck is your hobby...there's gonna be a lot of people who go out and buy the soon to be potentially discontinued or hard to find parts to keep spares around especially of the handful of most likely to fail parts

And FWIW I'm in agreement that people need to stop panic buying

Don't over spend on ammo while it's hot, buy the stuff that is in stock that you will likely not realize you need until it's in a panic buying moment

If people would stop panic buying ammo, prices will drop and stock will improve

Agree. And the people panic buying most likely won’t shoot it cause they over paid for it. They just want it cause everyone else is doing it.

Ok I get that. But it seems that some folks' hobbies are blasting mag after mag, and not really caring if they don't hit the target on the 1st shot. Or the 30th. I'm not into that. I also have plenty of ammo, guns, etc and always will have.

I'm not trying to be a know it all. I'm not trying to piss everyone off. But I will say this again: if lots of folks keep blazing thru ammo and then buying more at high prices, the price will never come down. Supply and demand. Keep demandind and they will keep supplying... at a cost.

you’re good, I may have responded a little harshly and if I did, I apologize

‘there will always be the crowd who just shoots to shoot but the rest who are just gobbling up ammo and sitting on it or reselling it on gunbroker and armslist and at gun shows for twice what they paid are the ones who will maintain this shortage IMO

ammo will settle and we’re starting to see it price wise...as people start to adjust and realize it’s stabilizing, the panic will subside..then all these orders will finish up over the next 3 to 5 years and the prices will start coming back down

    lather rinse repeat

that’s also why I push people to buy other stuff now while it’s still cheap and available

I’ve purchased ammo twice in the last 12 months for myself...in small amounts because I needed what I purchased, I’ve purchased a handful of guns at normal prices or dealer cost, and I’ve purchased accessories with the money I normally would spend on ammo

I do still want a couple of BCGs for spares but I know what they’re normally priced and I’m not giving $300 for a bolt that’s normally $150

I hate reloading mags at the range, that's why I need a front-end loader when I go shoot, for all my loaded mags:infantry::fenforcer::oldglory:

No need to apologize. If I wasn't arguing with you, I would be arguing with my wife. And if she don't shut her pie hole, I may end up in jail. :angrygirl:

it's not that, I just hate wasting time when I'm being charged per hour on the lane. Bringing a dozen mags loaded up beforehand saves money:thumbsup:

Curious, how many mags, rounds do you shoot at the range? And do you have to go to a range, coz you live in the city?

My last trip to an outdoor range, I brought 3 AR's and 2 friends. It was 10 degrees. I pre-loaded ten 20 round mags per rifle due to the temps. I generally pre-load all mags as I want to focus on shooting/practice versus loading mags.

I usually go to the Red's whenever I am working on a new optic/rifle combo, or sighting in a new rifle/pistol. If I want to just burn up brass, I'll go out to the hunting ranch.

So, usually I'll take 3 rifles or no more than 5 rifle/pistols to the range at a time, and minimum 100rds each caliber. I don't always get to go through all of them
