Nope I just taped around them and did 5-6 coats of plasti dip. It comes out pretty clean with the help of a tooth pick for detailing.

So you left the shell and kept the gf? Sounds like the opposite was in order.

I kid, I kid. I dig the shell look. And I'm sure your gf is pretty cool.

oh dang. I just shoot the threaded portion of my coilovers with some wd40 or some other kind of lubricant and I have no problem using the punches.

I recently listed 2 Sea Doo's and 2 jet ski trailers for $600. I had to delete the listing just to get some time to actually do some work. It was ridiculous.

I used to use MT-90 in MI without an issue. If it were me I’d get that GL-5 outta there ASAP, you can buy directly from Redline’s website. It’s only 2-3 qts. Worth it for the long term benefit.

Good advice. I'll probably order it in the next couple weeks. I'll get a couple new gaskets too. I rushed the job too much. Was eager to get the fluid changed.

Believe it or not, these are some of the lightest E load 285’s on the market if not the lightest. Hell, one of the lightest in most sizes. I absolutely love mine, driving like an asshole (most of the time) I get 15. Normal, peaceful driving, I get 17. They have 25k on them so far and I have no doubts of hitting 50-60k. I’ll be getting them in a 35, especially since these in a 35 weigh less than a 285 ridge grappler or wildpeak.

Honestly I'm surprised they even gave you grief for that. It's a stock sized option for Tacomas that technically arent any different than yours. I'm glad they didnt give you anymore trouble than that. It's a great tire for sure. That and the XLT A/S (same tire technically, just a diff name)

Are your currents the 265/70r16? The 265/75 wont rub and nets you about a 32" inch tire and doesnt rub. I didnt rub until I went to 33's

I have coilovers and UCA's up front at like 2.5 or 3" of lift I think? And my 285/75's rubbed the hell out of the fenders until I cut the lower corners off. Had the CMC done as well. I'm also running a spacer up front to match the width of my rears, I had to put spacers there to clear my 2.5x12's. For what it's worth they didnt rub before I put the spacers up front. But I just have stock 2004 TRD wheels

I’ve owned 3 2nd gen Tacoma’s (all V6 MT) and have never got anything above 14MPG. In fact I just put 285s on mine, and they are heavyyyy and my MPGs are still 14.

I used to get about 17 (nearly identical truck to yours, at least originally), with my 285's and other crap I'm at about 14 now. Are you correcting the mileage for your mpg calculation with the bigger tires?
