What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I'm more impressed with how you got the truck in the garage! Is the rack kissing the garage door at all?

 

Haven’t done anything yet but I have a lot of stuff starting to come in.

 

On the cab - Prinsu Cab Rack, Plano 42" Rifle/Shotgun Case, Prinsu Roof Rack Mounted MOLLE Gear Panel...On the SnugTop - Prinsu Top Rack, Prinsu Roof Rack Mounted MOLLE Gear Panel, 2 Prinsu Load Panels, RotoPax 4 Gallon Gasoline, RotoPax 2 Gallon Water and a 2 Gallon Storage Black.

 

Bending large sticks of tubing is very difficult. It really tested me with getting measurements and angles right, and had to go back and tweak it after the initial bending was done. The angles could be a little tighter to the body but for my first time doing something this large (and like 3rd time ever bending) I’m happy with it.

I made the tube extra long because the last thing I wanted was to come up short. I worked from the middle outward, going off of the fabricator series videos on YouTube. Overall I’m happy I got it with this tube and didn’t have to scrap it and start over, even if it’s not perfect.

 

cleaned chrome with mineral spirits, light sand with 1500 grit paper, then Rustoleum Self etching Primer ( about 3 coats ), then rustoleum Truck Bed Liner ( roughly 4 coats ). Happy with it for now until i get a new rear bumper.

Haha I actually ripped down my overhead GDO and installed a jackshaft side mount one. I'm actually afraid if I get new tires I won't fit. I literally have centimetres.

 

Thanks, it is finally getting there! Tomorrow will be the new challenge of notching the tubing with an angle grinder, which I have done once before. This front bumper build is really challenging me and also forcing me to step outside my comfort zone. I love it.

I have so much I still want to do. Have you upgraded your speakers? Do you notice a difference in sound quality since changing to this Alpine?

The wireless car play is awesome. Although I haven’t upgraded my speakers, I do notice a big difference in sound quality compared to the stock stereo. Big thing I noticed, the volume can go waaay louder than stock. I’ve always noticed that the stock stereo at full volume is still pretty low compared to other vehicles I’ve been in. Not a problem anymore.
