Here are the results of adding peel and stick weather stripping from Amazon.

    Initial Goal:

Reduce wind noise for a quieter ride on the highway.

DB meter used: Extech SL510 (Accurate to + or - 1DB at 94DB 1k Hz)

    DB sound level meter settings:

    DBA not C

Fast 125ms not Slow 1 second

    How I conducted the test:

Each test sample was roughly 30 seconds at 65 mph on the highway.

During each test, the sound level meter saves the highest and the lowest values. (ex. 72 DB A and 66.5 DB A)

With these two numbers I calculated an average. (ex. 69.25 DB A)

Once I got 10 test samples and 10 averages, I calculated THE average from the 10 averages.

Note: In both tests, all of the doors, the back wall and the hood have all been sound deadened. So you might have better results if your car has not been sound deadened.

Overall I saw 0.9 DB A drop. 67.4 down to 66.5. Not much of an improvement but, if you look at the highest measurements, they were significantly lower than before.

Documents with all test samples available below.

Really not that bad. Was easier than I thought. Hardest part was probably beating the old carrier bearing off of the shaft and after about 10 minutes it finally came loose. Check out this video by kflo tacoma if you need any pointers. He even has torque specs included.

Wired my Aftermarket tag Lights & str8 fl3xed on the hood at midnight. Detailed my buddy’s car because he always helps me with truck projects. He has an insane 08 AWD 3 series with bigger turbos pushing over 500hp with a MT. It’s ridic. And totally a sleeper from the outside. Rear bumper is FS btw.

yeah so they serve different purposes, the flat kind i used on the bottoms of all the doors, and the front edge of the front doors. And the B shaped kind goes on the bottom edge of the cab, between the front and back doors and behind the back doors. i was left with about 5 ft of the B shaped kind, and i used all of the flat kind.
So i would get exactly what i ordered. It's so inexpensive anyways, a little extra could be used elsewhere anyways.

CB install. I need to make the hole toward the front bigger and decide on a location for the mic jack. I have a 3' extension so I can put it somewhere around the third cup holder.

Added some lights from marketplace to the bar and swapped out fog lights from stock halogens to yellow LEDs this weekend. Swapped out cabin air filter while I was messing around.

So my youngest daughter and I love to ride. But sometimes we like to pack the bikes to locations that aren't near by. I got tired of laying down the bikes in the bed or trying to stand them up with straps.

So I priced some bike racks. Nope...I'm a cheap ass. Not spending that kind of money. So I made my own. Got less than $30 into it...as the screws and stain I already had.

    20200823_175704.jpg

Some Cabot black stain and some stainless steel eyelets. It won't stay in the bed all the time. But I wanted to make it at least somewhat weather resistant.

    20200823_183809.jpg

It's locked in place behind the tie-downs.

Looks awesome! That’s impressive having the idea to lock it in behind the tie downs.

They are just bad on take offs and cornering. But only if you are being aggressive. I drive my truck pretty hard and envision an F1 course at every roundabout. I just have to remind myself to slow down a bit when its raining. Great tires in the snow too. Throw 4WD on and it goes where you point it. Only thing that would stop it would be to belly up.
