I have seen the bed start to flex just due to the weight of a fiberglass canopy, We had a guy out with my landcruiser club whos bed split at the front behind the window on some rough roads due to a bunch of weight on his rack that didnt support it well enough.

Finished installing BP-51s, Dakars, and SPC UCAs today. Also cleaned up alot of crusty paint and rust while everything was apart under there.

51DC5FAB-36D9-4B6C-9E9F-600D7A9085C0.jpg Did a little more work on the stereo today. I’m going to remake the tweeter brackets but these are functional for now I’m also going to relocate the crossovers to inside the cab when I get the multi channel to power the 6 in the doors but these are surprisingly loud for only deck power. The low base notes are definitely lacking and overall it sounds a little unbalanced so I was going to do the back doors with a pair of coaxial then a 4 channel to power them then onto the sub to complete it but I think I will do the sub next. It’s been a fun project but quickly went over budget.

Wiring up some switches. Had to order terminals for the fuse boxes (making connections for future relays, easier to do it now).
Ordered heat shrink. I ran out

Also, my black bolts came in for my flares.

how challenging is it to do the sound deadening? Did you do it when everything was still off the door? or after it was installed? guessing the former because of convenience.

I got all my speakers done, but the truck is still pretty loud cruising on the freeway if my sound volume is turned down. would love to get it quieter, debating on doing it myself or having the guys who did my sound install it.

it’s really easy just a little time consuming but not to bad. To be honest though I haven’t noticed a difference really but I did it for vibration dampening if you want to really reduce the noise you have to do the whole cab it will give you a little better sound quality from your speakers.

hm okay...might hold off then lol.

vibration dampening is basically useless for me because anything that can rattle is taped down, and my sub takes care of the rest lmao. was hoping i could get away with just doing the doors for significant improvement, but makes sense you'd want the whole cab. As i understand, the majority of the noise comes in from the floor and roof.

    • Replaced front and rear differential oil with Red Line 75w-85 GL-5
    • Replaced transmission oil with Red Line MT90
    • Replaced transfer case oil with Red Line 75w-90 GL-5
    • Fluid Filmed anything I could reach. Extension kit coming in the next week or so.
    • Replaced spark plugs with K20HR-U11
    • Checked secondary breather filter to make sure my engine wasn't eating it
    • Installed @Baja Designs Squadron Sport yellow fogs
Still waiting for Red Line D4 ATF to ship so I can flush power steering. Eventually I'll get around to a brake and clutch fluid flush.

For the price and ease of install, I'd say its worth it. You probably won't notice a difference in road noise, but possibly in wind noise. There's much more solid feeling when closing the doors now, they feel much more air tight. Sometimes ill crack a window open before shutting my door when im getting in because it allows the air inside to escape. So for perceived quality alone, it's worth the $30 or so

Install it yourself! it's really easy, kinda fun and satisfying! I'm always looking for a little sound deadening weekend project. Just did my wheels wells this weekend.

Looks great ... looking to go a similar route soon. What size tire are you running and how do you like the ride after the update?

I don't know what their putting for engines in much newer Tundra's but my totally stock 2006 V6 auto with 37's just kicked the ass of a fairly new Tundra.

The nerve of the other driver, he actually thought he had more attitude than me. Well he did have more attitude than me until we came up on a red light.

I come to a intersection, nobody is moving, I'm in the right lane, my light is red, I'm turning right, nobody's moving, I hit the go pedal and turn right, the Tundra that was to my left gets right on my trucks butt because he obviously floored the gas pedal on the green light he had just gotten, then he swerves into the next lane over barely missing my truck, he's hauling butt and goes back into my lane cutting me off, no no no not gonna happen, madman (me) gets in the lane he just got out of and actually passed him - stock with 37's, so now it's apparently a race because we're both accelerating albeit his a little slower, lmao, my old Taco kicked his Tundra's butt, I have probably 500 or 600 pounds of tools on my truck, anyway get to the red light and I say "hey mother #$%/×+ why did you ÷×:;,#+ ^*^=@%# get on my ^%#@×<&;# and then you &>>/=×#... "well I had a green light and" "hey you $&$#×%* I'm gonna $&&==×_# if you don't ^&=×_&#......

Longest incomprehensible sentence in history ^^ LMAO!

No it wasn't near a school, or houses, or anything else remotely close to anything.

That's what I did to my Tacoma today, I used it to kick a Tundra's butt.

I have some chinese Ebay/Amazon flares with the "flaps" molded in. I masked off an outline and plasti dipped in the "mud flaps" to make it look not as obvious after paint matching them. I always giggled at them because they're so corny looking. I cant wait to chop half my flares off when I upsize my tires :spy:
