worked on the hanger crossbar. excited to see how much of a difference this makes but unfortunately the truck probably won't see pavement for another 2 months

The real question is how do I learn to weld like ol #Randyfab? Once the garage is cleared out from the move a welding set up is first order. Then I can really start working on the truck

 

Went and had local fabricator Ty Snow (Roxtar Trux) help me out by adding some Nitrogen to my EMPTY brand new Bilstein 7100 shock. It had about 5psi in it straight from Bilstein. Per recommendations Ty helped me fill it to 200psi. Hopefully no premature failures in the future. I knew it was low because you could easily depress it by hand & it takes about 30 seconds for the shock to re expand.

Did you contact Bilstein? That seems really sketchy! Keep an eye on it, it might have a leak or something.

 

I contacted wheel every weekend, who is the Bilstein dealer I purchased from. They are working on it. In the meantime this definitely got it sorted out. Not much other choice I have for now.

 

Been dealing with Wheel every weekend & they have been in contact with Bilstein. I’m probably going to call Bilstein myself though & see what’s going on with their side of the story

Nice...what size? I went smaller as well due to reduced turn radius. The 35’s while nice couldn’t maneuver some of the switchbacks on a couple of passes in Colorado. I had a few “butt clinching” moments where I felt less than in control...

 

I had Line-X put on my BPF skid plate a few years ago and just noticed today it's separating. What is a good temporary fix here? I'm thinking black silicone sealant and a spray-over with some rhino liner?

I see what you mean, just chip off that corner and fix it with rattle can.

 

I'll give it a try, that sounds like the best way to go and would make future touch-ups easy. I think the Line-X was $100 when I did. Hey let's trade for a winter, your truck looks like it could use a little rust. It gives it character!!

Hey folks question for ya, if i change my rear struts from Bilstein 5100’s to extended 5100’s, will that lift the rear up a little bit? Regular 5100’s are 14 inches collapsed, and extended 5100’s are 16” collapsed. Will that provide lift?

No. Only the leaf springs provide lift in the rear

 

Found an ARB bumper for an unbeatable price so put it on. The more I look at it the more it grows on me... I’m more of a fan of the slimmer bumpers not this huge thing but I’m starting to really like it!
