What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

If I get the glass any cleaner , I won’t know it’s there,

 

Something I've been meaning to do for ages and finally got around to it today.

Added a 12v port for the rear passengers. This can be used with a USB adapter as well.

Just an inexpensive 12v port from Autozone.



Measured the center point and down 4" to clear the back of the cup holders. Used a 1" hole saw for the cut.





Installed





Used an Add-a-Fuse to power it off the existing power port circuit. I have a 10 amp fuse protecting it. That should be enough to juice a couple of phones, games, etc. I can always go to 15 amp if needed. But you don't want the accessory fuse to be higher than the circuit fuse. So 15 would be max for this setup.



Hot wire routed to the rear of the console along with a ground secured.



Hot wire loomed for protection.



Positive and negative hooked up.

Remade my arb dual compressor mount. Previous was some thin sheet metal that i bent by hand. New mount is 3/16" base plate and 1/8" supporting arm.

Just a cheap harbor freight LED light that I took apart and hook it up on my makeshift table saw stand.

 

It’s been a while since I’ve been on, but yesterday finally placed my order for the Icon stage 4. Expecting a small improvement over the 3” blocks that I bought the truck with.
Truck needs some love, so probably gonna take care of a few things while I wait for the kit to come in.

 

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but will a cat-back exhaust from a 3rd gen go on a 2nd? Or too much trouble?

Seems like Harbor Freight doesn't sell the light anymore.

Correct it is raptor liner. Top was before it was untapped.Bottom it all done. Had it priced to paint but couldn’t justify over 5,000 on a 2005 model.

 

This is exactly what I am thinking of doing eventually. Mine's got a lot of paint chipping off it and really can't justify the price for a paint job either. Was it fairly easy to do? How long do you have to let it dry for?

 

Bed liner has been such a nice feature when offroading. No more pin stripes.

 

What kind of hose did you use for your cowl intake pipe?

 

Installed my @MESO dual brightness dome. Even on the low setting its bright AF.. the pic is altered I took some of the brightness out of it just so you could see it.

 

And that's another reason for it as well. And no more wash, wax, polish, blah blah blah. spray it down call it a day. Really the only downside I've come across in my research online, is people talking about selling it down the road. But I don't plan on selling this thing. Its already 10 years old with 120k on it. I'll drive it until it dies.

 

Sanding was the worst part. That took about 3 evenings after work. Spraying it is pretty straight forward. I sprayed it on Friday and let it sit for the weekend. Could have drove it sooner if needed.

 

Not too bad. Looks great!

 

I did mine with Monstaliner about 6-7 years ago. It took 1 gallon per coat. I'd recommend 3 coats if changing to a lighter color. Rolls on. Including prep it took me 4-5 days and I let it cure for 2 more days before reassembling everything. http://www.monstaliner.com/

Didn’t need any other pieces than this. Just drilled a big ass hole in my cowl and routed this to it.
