Tinted the front windows. :) It's 20% I wish I had gone a little lighter to match the rear, but oh well.

    20% legal in MD?

I believe 30% is the legal darkest in FL. my Tacoma came from South East Toyota with 42%...it's just a little lighter than the rear door glass. I believe 30% would be a perfect match.

Not sure I'd want it any darker than I have.

and I'm suprised the tint shop didn't recommend a match for the rear windows.

Don't forget that factory front windows meter at around 70%.
If 30% is legal, you can't go with a film darker than about 60% without falling below 30% total on the meter.

my Tacoma has "legal window tint for AL FL GA NC SC" from SE Toyota...according to the window sticker. on the window is a small sticker "bug" in the lower corner that says 42%.

not sure if that's 42% film? or 42% total? :notsure:

    42% total.

We're used to seeing films on top of the factory 70%, so when looking at your 42% don't think "Wow, this is nowhere NEAR the 30% I used to have."
It's that the 30% you used to have was 30% on top of 70%, so it was closer to 20% total.

That bed rack is cool. I like the versatility. I'd like to add a bar at cab to clear the roof for hauling pipe and lumber and ditch my headache rack.

    sounds right.

I'm happy with the 42% total. but it was over-priced @ $299.00. I could get it done local for 1/2 that, but was already on the truck.

Personally, I would rather have that weight (tire/wheel) low and behind the rear axle than high and in front of it. The more weight you can keep lower on the truck the better IMO. If you think of a vehicle as a 50/50 split top to bottom as well as front to back you moved a larger weight MUCH higher than you gained in front/back split of that makes sense. I like the setup though. Nice work.
