Upgraded from the factory battery after it took a poop. Then threw some cheap Wallyworld light pods on the bed basket for side lighting in anticipation of camping season.

Question for all you out there with Plano/Pelican/Whatever boxes on your roof racks.

Do you leave the top foam (the lid of the case I guess) in, or do you remove it for the extra couple of inches of space? I haven’t removed my foam, but when I have my compressor up top it makes the case bulge.

only reason I left the foam in was because I felt like it might help stopping the items up top from rolling around.

I want one of those Milwaukee's so bad. Rusty saltwatered out lug nuts that are going to break the lugs no matter what anyway...

I have messed with broken plastic a lot. You're not going to be able to thread a brass nipple into that plastic and have it last. Epoxies and glues end up being too brittle to last as well. I've found that using an electrical soldering iron to weld the plastic back together is the start to a lasting repair. Find some plastic that you can use as filler "rod" for your weld (plastic weld). Sink the iron a little deeper than what you think you should, penetration is key. Once you've welded it back together from both sides of the piece scratch the plastic all around the weld with a sharp pick tool or a test light or a DVM probe. Put plastic epoxy all over the weld and the scratches you put into the plastic. If you go to all that effort it was last forever and be much stronger than it was originally.

It's extremely common for Tacoma owners to add bigger Calipers in the front. Some add rear disc brake calipers into the mix. The reason I'm only mentioning the calipers is because I'm referring to the volume of brake fluid that has to be moved by the same size master cylinder and booster. Even fewer Tacoma owners add larger master cylinders and keep the stock booster. They ALL complain of mushy brakes. Honestly, I don't know what mushy brakes even means. Anyway as long as your truck doesn't have ATRAC I highly recommend stock larger 4Runner front rotors and calipers, Tundra booster and Tundra dual diaphragm (!!!) booster. I'll post a link for you in a few minutes. My truck has 37's and it stops on a dime. I tow boats often and it stops amazing while towing.

    edit: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-2006-tacoma-brake-upgrade-edited.652471/

As long as you don't have ATRAC spend the same money and get 4Runner rotors, calipers, and pads.

How much do your ditch lights move when you drive? Like do they rattle a bit?
After installing mine, if I flick the light with my hand, it rattles/bobbles up and down. I don't think my brackets are very sturdy...

    NICE!

Any close ups of the mounting points? I need to do this replacing the door grab handles on an old 4runner. Might as well get stuff done while the leg is all messed up

I went the "inexpensive" route, and they are beefy AF (read: don't move even at 70mph) - I re-coated them with rattlecan truck liner before mounting them. You can get an idea of how thick the steel is in the first picture (I apparently never took ACTUAL pictures of them prior to mounting my Sports)

Good to know. I don’t know why it took me so long to realize that I could get extra space if I removed it. Added it to the list for the day!

It's the cowl induction mod (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cowl-induction-snorkel.525314/) - people do it a number of different ways. Mine was with that reducing elbow and spectre duct. What that picture shows is my prototype with an aluminum pipe and butyl sound deadening wrapped around it.
