I'm gonna do that possibly this weekend. The lower idler pulley has the squeaks so I'm replacing all 3, the tensioner, belt, hoses, thermostat & waterpump while its apart. I leave for Idaho (driving from PA) in about 2 months, doing it all for peace of mind even though I only have 96K on my truck.

The sound deadening alone helped. I want to pull the headliner back down to run wires so I figured, while it was down I should add some of this stuff.

I have a 2015 with 100k miles, I checked all the idler pulleys and they sounded good and spun without resistance, guess I’m lucky. I did all that for peace of mind too, the coolant and belt looked fine, but why take the chance. What’s the saying, an ounce of prevention...It also satisfies my OCD!

THIS, haha. My coolant is good but its not gonna hurt to change it, need to find some hose for the block drains yet.

Those block drains were tricky, just have enough 3/8s extensions, the drivers side is the harder one to reach and you get the least amount of coolant from. They’re not hard to get to, just be persist, very easy job tho. Take a look at the attached manual file, it’s all very straightforward. Good luck!

When you change the coolant flush the heater core.....incredible what came out of mine, and it was nice to get a better heater going.

Just hit 80k miles on my 2012 Prerunner. Switching out stock shocks for Bilstein 5100s all around. Thinking about changing tires from BF Goodrich TA KO2s to Geolander AT G015. Chasing a better ride for highway trips.

Update: Smittybilt Overlander Gen 2 is installed. I honestly could not be happier with my purchase. Some people like to knock Smittybilt, and I’m unsure why, but this is one hell of a tent. I say that without even taking into consideration that it’s one of the lowest priced RTT you will find. This is very well made and the only thing I found remotely close to being an issue was the ladder mounts potentially rubbing a hole in the cover over time. I used some fabric from the packaging to fix this in about 30 minutes. Very excited to get out this weekend and use it!

I like how these discretely hide the mounting points in the back. I several accessories connected and you cant even tell.

    Correct.

A little snug. I just bent the main positive end down a little bit to accommodate.

Replaced the Schrader valve on the in cab manifold with an 8mm QC that connects to a HP air canister. Either the 2 gallon tank or the bottled air could supply enough to lift the cap 20” silently with 4 - SC40 x 500 double acting cylinders. Nice for those late camp arrivals. The compressor is basically for filling the tank while on the move or airing up. Since I use bottled HP air for work(paintball rig for pneumatic guns) I added the connector as an alternative/backup. In a pinch a bike pump could lift the cap, about like filling 2- mtb tires, more if the cap is loaded.

If you only cut the post loop off the neg battery clamp end(save the crimp and the part with the bolt hole) you can use that as a lug. The factory clamp is tinned copper.

Just because I know I'll get some responses here, when should I worry about replacing my alternator, battery, serp belt, pulleys etc? I have 141k miles, but everything seems to be running smoothly.

Have Bilstein 5100s all around, and the G015s.......envious of the fatter tires, but the setup is great for Highway driving, good handling, quiet, good on gas.....
