Taped my fender. Now I have to find my automatic center punch.
I decided to drill the holes (Dobinson snorkel) then have the fender painted.

(you can see the discrepancy of the lower middle hole)

LOL same, I cranked them down till the nylocks had enough to grip maybe 1/4" sticking out the top then just used the "I just torqued the rest of my new suspension and this felt about right" arm torque cause I could not get a torque wrench in there either. Good to know it wasnt just a me thing!

mine is the passenger side, but honestly for the price it would make more sense to just buy the part and do it myself

The UCAs finally showed up randomly today after almost 4 weeks of silence and no tracking o_O
    20210319_171506.jpg

And a bit of paint chipping on the exact same spot on both sides . Touch it up or send them back?

This is more of a thing I'm thinking about doing. I found this this great deal on the eibach 2.0 coilovers for the third gen trucks. Should I pull the trigger or wait until they come out with the kit for our trucks?

Defiantly send them back. That shows that the paint job is pretty bad and it won't stop chipping. Go either Total Chaos or Dirt King. I got Total Chaos and I love them!!

Investigated why my passenger speaker stopped working and it turned out the positive input was loose on the crossover so i proceeded to tighten the shit out of it and snapped the screw couldn't find a way to attach it so I popped the plate and added a female spade connector to the tab I found underneath. New ones are on the way but this should work as a temporary fix.

Already running the Osram Nightbreaker Lasers but will be ordering the Philips Racing +200's to go along with the harness. Between those and the SS3 Sports I installed today I'll be sitting pretty as far as lighting goes.

I'd send them back, but if the second set comes like that too then I guess that's what $300 UCAs look like

Yep, I've never purchased a product from them and I usually don't buy "cheap". They had solid reviews from multiple sources + being decently priced is why I bought 'em.

The more I look at them, the paint job screams "rushed" and now I'm super hesitant to mount them up.

The reason I considered just repainting them is because of the ugly scenario it took them to get to my doorstep. I ordered them from a 3rd party vendor because the product is not available direct. The 3rd party vendor was a joke to deal with and I really don't want to go through that again. I already contacted TC, we'll see how that plays out.

Lol now you have me thinking I might have cranked them down too much. Maybe I’ll back them off a bit.

Look under there. It’s a fuckin joke. They just coat the inside of the frame with some thick gloppy shit that gets everywhere. If you’re under your truck at all you’ll get it on you. It’s not some permanent epoxy type solution, just some bandaid temporary bullshit quick fix.

There is little that would actually be permanent. Anything hard like epoxy would crack because your frame flexes just going down the road. Paint will get chipped from sand, rocks, debris from just driving down the road. The best is soft and flexible. But that tends to dry out, crack, and fall off. That's why washing your undercarriage anywhere they use salt on the roads has been considered normal maintenance for decades, until recently...

Or perhaps better steel/prep/painting choices from Toyota in the first place would be good. Plus I doubt a car wash cleans the inside of the frame...

Used it to get from the condo at the resort to the parking lot for an awesome day of snowboarding with one of my sons. Nothing like waking up to fresh snow everywhere!

Finally got to test out the 33” Falken Wildpeak At3ws in the mud earlier this week. I really liked how they performed. Made a video of my little adventure up to Santiago Peak.
