Get some good Phillips bulbs and you won't be disappointed! I went Extra fancy and paint matched the shroud my body color. Pretty cool against the black housing imo

The retrofit source is pretty helpful for all of that.

If you look at it from the other side, it's tilted backwards, so much so that it will hit the a-pillar.

Thanks, this mod will be on hold as I do other things.
I'm having Dobinsons send me a new template. I already know it will be wrong but I'll use it as a starting point. I'm also getting a new fender.

    the good ones
The second gen is a good balance between the simplicity that I like from my old one but also having a modern vehicle. I definitely feel great about it, I'm just sentimental

dusted off the soft top for some long distance furniture hauling next month. Nice sunny day makes it easier to get everything to stretch out.

Also threw some new LED's in the reverse sockets. Someone here had recommended them a while back. Major Improvement. $13.00 Callin' it a win.

Cleaned my MAF sensor and throttle body today. This is the first I've done this to this truck, and I don't know if it's been done before by the previous owner, but the MAF was visibly dirty. After cleaning everything up good, the truck idles and runs much smoother now.

Thanks, @bagleboy  Screenshot for future reference...drill 1/4" hole, put ABS panel on, star washer, rivnut, washer, 2" grade 8 bolt (same thread), drive w/ impact driver...sounds doable! Appreciate the instructions! :proposetoast:

@plurpimpin Understood. Thanks for walking me through the logic. ABS piece just showed up today...It's been about 30 degrees and snowing, so I've been avoiding going outside...that's why I've been trying to get as much info as possible via this forum...So, when I do get out there, I've got an idea of what I'm doing.

As far as wiring, how did you go about that?

Did you drill a hole into the pocket from the outside or from the inside?

Any tips on running the wires to the battery?

Also, wondering if we can take this over to a dedicated thread so the info doesn't get lost for future installers....

Here is a link to that thread:

Just an FYI, you need a minimum of 50 posts to sell anything on TW. Since you are 6 posts away it won't take long but the other rules are that the part has to be removed from the vehicle and you must post pictures and a price. Best of luck!

I picked it up from having the CRC treatment applied to the frame. Since they had the truck already, I also had them do the front and rear diff service and trans fluid.

Depending on your perspective I either helped a fellow TW member out or I hacked up a fellow TW members truck. A version of the CMC that I wondered why no one else had done (that I've seen, I'm sure someone out there has done it before).

So this is after the cuts.
    20210324_112715.jpg
This picture shows clamps on it after I re-formed the steel a little bit however I did end up re-forming the steel and re-clamping it down however I forgot to take a picture of that new position.
    20210324_114612.jpg
All welded up. So I use a Hobart that's a 110v machibe and in my experience 110v machines require a different technique than a 220v machine so you'll notice some areas were ground smooth and others left alone, the areas that are ground down had a ton of wire shoved into a big puddle to get more penetration out of the 110v machine. That process can make incredibly large bougers lol, so those get ground off, but it's strong AF. Other areas got plenty of penetration and were welded about 3/8" at a time and allowing it to cool for a few seconds so holes weren't blown into it. All welds were done with my machine on its max amp output because I personally care only about penetration versus appearance. I've been using 110v machines for decades.
