The show your taco in scenic places thread, in the 2nd gen section, is pretty mild. 3rd gens posts photos in there all the time, but no one says shit. I find it amusing they don't catch which section they are in, but keep it to myself.

Front doors got the Noico Black and Noico Red treatment. Installed the Kicker KS 6x9 component set. Ran new speaker wires into the doors since they'll be running off a Kicker Key. PXL_20210408_233704763.jpg

Got the @AL Offroad Products roof rack installed. Diggin' it so far. I chose the AL because I liked the side panel design, I liked the mounting system (curved brackets that go straight to the roof instead of spacers), and the group buy made the price very competitive.

Installation was pretty straightforward but a little different than what I've seen from other racks. First the brackets bolt in (loosely) first and then you attach the cross bars, then the side panels. Took a bit of wiggling everything back and forth to get it centered and square. The hardware supplied was a little different than what they use in the installation how-to video, but not difficult to figure out.

Thinking about adding some grab handles and scene lights next. The front fairing is positioned all the way down and includes a rubber seal that blocks 99 percent of the wind noise. Honestly I can't even tell it's up there. Only bummer so far is that even with the fairing all the way down it sits a tiny bit above the level of the crossbars, so when I have my canoe on there it will rest on the fairing and not the crossbars and probably scrape the crap out of it. The fairing with the light cutout would likely eliminate this but I'll figure something out.

    Anyway, pics:

Great info. Quick question, is the logo on the fairing permanent or removable?

Looks nice. I would probably go with this one if I didn't already have one installed. The spacers for the feet vs curved feet that fit right to the body is a much cleaner look. It doesn't look like an afterthought.

I did this process back in 12/19 with a layer of 50mil butyl and then a layer of 157mil PE foam - door panels go back on without issue. When I did it the first time, I also had enough room to mount a passive crossover. Mine isn't as pretty, but I also chose to run my wiring outside the deadening, and secured it with gorilla tape.

What coolers are those? Do you have a write up? I noticed the 3rd gens have power steering coolers (tiny little 10" long single line doubled on itself with a few fins) while the 2nd gens have nothing at all.

How does your hydraulic winch work in conjunction with your power steering being in the same loop?

Ford 9 with custom extensions to mount Toyota axles shafts and backer plates? If so, where from?

After 240k, the last 60k lifted my original axles decided to tear their boots, noticed when I went under the truck last weekend to do the steering rack bushings and inner tie rods (no pictures)

    PXL_20210402_232444529.jpg
    PXL_20210402_232423465.jpg

It was the pleat right next to the clamps that went.

    PXL_20210408_182043679.jpg

So I had a fun day this weekend.

    PXL_20210408_145930006.jpg

Did the "boot slide mod" on both boots, the rubber inner one about 1.5" and the more plastic outer one about .5" closing the gap from 5" to about 3" marked for monitoring.

    PXL_20210408_154027849~2.jpg

    PXL_20210408_153832713.jpg

I did the ECGS bushing about 2 years ago, no noticeable wear though the axle on that side does have some groves from being unsupported by the original needle bearing.

    PXL_20210408_170707946.jpg

All done both sides, front end feels so goo an no play or clunking at all when driving off road, super responsive and stable on road now that the whole front end is new practically.
