I tried running premium when stock and it maybe idled a little smoother, but no change in performance. It’s supercharged now which is why it takes premium only

The only difference between different octane fuels is the resistance to pre-ignition. Premium is not better or "high performance", it just resists pre-ignition better than regular octane does. It's essentially harder to ignite.

This is why high performance/supercharged/turbocharged/etc. vehicles typically require premium. The high compression ratio and/or boost makes pre-ignition more likely. The higher octane allows for those higher compression ratios and/or boost levels without damaging the engine

Running a higher octane than what the engine is tuned for usually results in worse gas mileage and worse performance.

This might sound dumb, but is your ultragauge giving you an estimated fuel tank level based on remaining fuel and average miles per gallon, or do we somehow have access to the true reported level and I missed it entirely.

I have a passing interest in getting one of these, so I just went and googled the alarm. A lot of posts are suggesting that there's a calibration factor that might not be set correctly for the mileage calc.

It cant read the true tank data, it guesses based on the input of gals you put in and the amount of fuel you told it you have in the tank. Its annoying to hear so i usually don't use that feature. You have to manually input every time you fill up so it will shut up.

It would be great if it could pull that data from Fuelly app/site.
