I cut my plug off and moved tot the top, then ran the appropriate gauged wire for positive and neutral inside heatshrink to the top. I was able to tuck it in pretty well into that side channel. I did put a couple spots of sensor safe sealant to hold it in place underneath. Looks clean enough I forget its there. I have seen people use an aftermarket little channel piece fitted over this but to me it sticks out and I dont care for it.

Or if you dont want to cut it, you can loop it back and forth up top behind the wind guard and zip tie it to the underside of the first crossbar.

Thanks! I just started to read a lot of other people’s experiences here in mounting. The big thing was I took the brackets and flipped them upside down which seemed to help the fit a lot better. I can try to get a photo if you want.

I have used my iPhone with it and it does work. I'm not the best at setting it up for sure. I'm sure most of you guys can do it much better. CarPlay does work wirelessly

It only comes in a 9", 8" and 7" I believe. They are all the same except for screen size

I have this unit in my 2015 and have had it in my car for a week. The headunit is great. I use wireless Apple Carplay everyday and it connects pretty quick. Wireless Apple Carplay is slightly laggy, but if you use the usb cord and do it wired, it is not laggy. This is definitely a good value for what you get compared to others like pioneer and kenwood. Also, a great thing about it is that its plug n play and you do not need to cut wires all the while it retains your steering wheel controls.

CONS: I had to modify my 2015 Entune radio mounting brackets to make it work with this. Also, my unit gets very very hot kinda fast which scares me. After a 30min drive, the brain (main box with all the internal wiring/cpus) gets so hot it is pretty much untouchable. That's pretty hot for a headunit i would say. No exaggeration, its untouchably hot after 30mins. So this scares me that it could potentially get so hot and start to potentially burn wires and maybe start a fire. ---- I am not really that familiar with radio headunits and if getting too overheated and hott can lead to a fire or if a fire is even a possibility from the headunit, but it definitely concerns me as of now. Also, it does not retain factory reverse camera if you have it, you can splice into it to make it work, but getting an aftermarket new one if probably somewhat easier.

2015 Tacoma head unit installed on my 2007! Had to buy an adapter and Bluetooth mic from a scion through Toyota and everything works perfect except backup camera which I haven’t bought yet and navigation will work as soon as I buy a compatible antenna. Bought the head unit on Facebook marketplace for $100 and $125 in adapters/parts. Very happy with the price while still keeping it Toyota.

Anyone got any advice on what to do next? It's been a little less than a year since I installed my old man emu lift kit with JBA UCAs. Looking to increase my trail-blazing experience.
