Here's a tip (It works) Install some industrial Velcro on either side of the bracket where the tailgate closes on the antenna bracket. It will protect your paint hen the bracket flexes. Here's a pic of one side (tailgate side) of the bracket the other side has it too.

The 75-822 is a great CB. I keep the spare battery pack and mobile antenna in the truck for "out of the vehicle" radio work. I have a firestik mounted just behind the cab on mine.

So im thinking about copying your rear set up but have no experience with what works and what doesnt, will the 14 inchers provide enough up travel?

De-badged the tailgate. they left all the glue behind so it took a while. Going to wrap it in Matte black when I have enough time one of these days. Didn't turn out so bad for being 12 years old
And of course my doggo has to photo bomb every time I try to take a picture of anything.

Good Idea! I'll do that to mine too.

Check the bracket to make sure the mounting hole is big enough. I had to drill mine to 1/2" and scrape some of the powder coat off to make sure it grounded correctly.

Can anyone tell me if there is a easy way to unplug the wires going into the tailgate? Going to remove it to wrap but I didn't see a place to disconnect it at first glance.

I posted last week after installing the Jensen CAR689 in my truck. Turned out that head unit has all kinds of issues so I returned it, and grabbed a newer model with wireless Android Auto/Apple Car play. This one performs much better, and wireless Android Auto is a game changer for me (I use GPS in my area quite a bit). The install was not bad at all either considering I just did one last week. So far I highly recommend the Jensen CAR710w.

If you open up the tailgate and take off the inner panel, you can unhook the wire from the camera and put it threw the tailgate hole. Or you can disconnect the camera wore from the main harness underneath the truck, pull the tailgate out and then stuff it into the hole in the tailgate.

Swapped to some 18” x 500 lb coils today to bring the front end down some, back to where I was pre-LT which is about 1.5” lift. This thing rides like a boat now with the body roll but I love it. It’ll articulate so easily in the rocks.
