Well....believe it or not I had about 45 min to tinker today during lunch.

Simple, easy and worth while project considering I did it with my 17 month old in one hand!!!!

Took my snorkel head off and added some screen mesh to keep bees, bugs and other debris out.20210818_114732.jpg 20210818_113249.jpg 20210818_113718.jpg 20210818_114649.jpg 20210818_114705.jpg 20210818_125111.jpg 20210818_130013.jpg

I have Mecotechs on my truck. Lowers haven't given me any issues (only about 7k on then though). On the uppers I had a boot tear and a UBJ cap leak. Just an FYI.

Same. I carry a cold steel trail boss (going to swap to an FSS soon) in the cab on the molle panel. I've used it exactly once to clear a tree that had fallen over a road that I couldn't just grab and move. It would have been a hell of a day trying to do that with a hatchet. But I do like a hatchet for camp chores.

Took my truck to Redbird state rec area with some work buddies. 4runner was stock other than tires, Jeep was bone stock on street tires (about 2 months old). Got to recover the 4runner from a mud hole and I popped off the passenger mirror cover hitting a tree while recovering him. Trail limo gonna trail limo. squeezing this long boi between trees, trying to turn around on tracks, or backing up in tight spots was a bit of a trick but the truck performed great. Makes me want a winch and high profile rear bumper..... or a shorter wheel base toy that I can beat up and leave the Tacoma nicer.

Recovering the 4runner from these mud holes. He got sucked in and then high centered teetering half in and half out of the hole behind him. track was too tight to turn my truck around so I had to pull him backwards which wasn't ideal but worked

Mud... now you gonna have to clean it up. I love rocks and dirt but don't like the mud-lazy I guess. Looks like you had fun though!

Best mod I did when I had my stock radio

I run the moog's on my stock rebuild LCA's. I just pressed in some new moogs into them over the last month. They have an angled zerks fitting that if I turn the wheel a certain angle I can hook into them with my grease gun. I have the new "internal boot" moog design. Pressing the ball joint out is a pain but I cheated and machined slots on either side of the old ball joint with a milling machine so I had a platform to prop the arm up to press against.

welp...this might be a bad head gasket.

Didnt take the truck on our trip last week, coolant came back up but not out of the reservoir
So thought it was a bad fan clutch; swapped it out monday after work; coolant dropped again but still bubbling after burping system twice :anonymous:

I dont have the full time to do the job myself so will be looking for a local shop to either do the headgasket job or engine swap

Did you need to buy an older stereo for the hazard bracket? Ordered recently and trying to figure out if I need to find an older stereo.

Added some PolyPerformance UCAs. Gained a ton of tire clearance on the UCA, it was rubbing at full lock in reverse w the 3rd gen suspension and the Fox coilovers, now it easily clears. Also, gained caster and improved alignment yada yada.
