Installed one of the 4x4 switch led kits today, along with 2 LEDs to light the center console area. The tech deck mount has 2 holes for a center support that were perfect for 5mm LEDs.

Put my derusted and painted sway bar back in with new bushings and and nicer links with zerks. With the new OME 884 springs, Bilstein 5100 on all 4 and icon progressive aal, it drives and rides so damn good. Not to mention the Powerstop ceramic pads and shoes and coated rotors and drums feeling great to.

For anyone considering upgrading to the awesome Subaru KICKER tweeters (H631SFJ101) there is a 20% coupon code (HDY22) available to use at subarupartswarehouse.com. They are great speakers and I have used them in 3 Tacomas. The total price is now $75 including tax. There may be a shipping or pickup handling charge added at checkout.

That is why I went with the gray covers on mine.
20210915_153949 - Copy.jpg My 3rd gen had black trim so went with black covers on that one.20160810_144953.jpg
When I sold the 2016, even after 5.5 years of use, those covers still looked new and I only adjusted them once back in March of 2016. Excellent covers but have really gone up in price since then. I still think they are the best covers. Had in 2016, 2012 and 2008 trucks. 1st mod I do to every truck.

Kicker CS 6 x 9 in the last 3 trucks. I always manage to find deals such as Best Buy clearances, etc. so I usually find them half price. Whatever you buy I strongly suggest googling sales daily. I only swapped the front speakers. My rear access cab speakers are stock. After changing the head unit I have it tuned where my rear speakers actually sound good now. The Kickers help provide the bass missing from stock front door speakers. Not bass like a sub but bass that is very adequate. I am way old but I still like tame music like Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 9 Inch Nails or Rage Against the Machine. Something that still has a good thump to it.

No I don't own any dogs. When I dog-sit for my kids they travel in one of the SUV's with the rear doggie seat covers. If I did have dogs I would use the non-perforated type of Clazzio. I think the perforations may be easier to damage by dog nails. I know I had a couple of "oh shit I have a screwdriver in my pocket" scares but never tore one. One thing I always liked about Clazzio is that, if an upper or lower cover is damaged, you can actually buy only the replacement section needed. I don't think anyone else offers that.

I have a 2010 access cab. I disconnected the rear speakers because they were just those embedded head liner speakers...Went with an Kenwood KDC-HD552U & alpine ktp-445a power pack bridged...Front speakers and tweeter with crossovers from Polk...LOVE IT as an after market solution to the lacking factory setup on the 2nd gen Access Cab with no rear door speakers (BOooo)

Hey yall, I have been searching for weeks and can't find any information on the difference between a 2006 double cab long box frame vs a 2015, my frame has failed and I need to replace it, and have found a 2015 frame, does anyone know if they will fit??

I recently, about two months ago, did some research and found junk yard frames. My experience has been that they will not fit. When selecting the years, 2005 for me, for a 2013-15 frame in the inventory, it came up as not fitting my year. That's the best info I can give. That doesn't mean it won't fit, but its a gamble without guidance from someone who has done that swap.
    Good luck with your frame.

After some quick research looks like the 2006 frame rails 51001-04500 only fit 2005-2009 DBLB. Looks like different parts to make the frame assemblies in later years. The frame rails for 2006 DCLB are a single unit for $3800. It looks like they did use quite a few crossmembers from 2005-2023.
EDIT found a 2009-2011 frame 51001-04771 DISCONTINUED, 2012 uses frame 51001-04702 $2650, 2013-2015 uses frame 51001-04776 $5400. I think I would search for a 2005-2008 frame. My 2008 frame is spotless with 85k miles so I believe it is worth searching for. Look in the southern or southwestern states where salt is not frequently used on roads. Patience is a virtue however, if your body is in rough shape or with any impending body rust, it may not be worth the investment.

Built a sleeping platform and then drove 850 miles for an overnight trip to Talladega National Forest, originally tried camping in Cheaha State Park at the top of the mountain but they don't allow truck camping there or any "official" campground in Alabama; primitive or not.
