If you're talking the overhead console there's no room for it.

Home link is only available with the limited package. I have not found anywhere that carries the rear view mirror from a limited yet.

that's crazy! I did not know it was only available on limited. I think the mirror is great w the built in HL but the posters set up is also clean.

The mirror w the HL / camera display and auto dim were talking about is sold by a member of this forum. Search the for sale section and you'll find Rod's thread.

removed the side steps.. removed the horrible pin stripes and trd stickers.. removed bug shield. I just got this truck and apparently the last owner was a 70 year old man... trying to remove the old man from it...

I looked and the depth needed is there. I just hate to butcher the cover without a replacement cover. Toyota does not sell the cover just the entire console.

Then we're not talking about the same place. If you have the overhead console with temp and direction and are talking about the spot between the overhead lights it won't fit. Trust me, the last place I wanted to mount mine was in the headliner. The HomeLink module is larger than you think and the shape makes it not fit. If there would have been a way to do it... I would have.

Just so you're aware what the entire module looks like:

Toyota used to offer various options for the door in the console.
The standard door was for sunglasses (that won't work with wraps).
Another option was a pushbutton that operated a garage door opener that was attached to the top of the console... the button on the door simply pressed the opener's button.
The third option was a 3-button Homelink.
My '03 Tundra had one, and I found a gray door version and retrofitted my wife's '04 Rav4.

Here's one from a GM that might be adaptable:

I haz no temp gauge. I have a stock Tacoma with the garage door button that oresses the opener. My home has two garage doors and the Homelink would work for me.

THX Rich. By looking at the eBay pics I can see that the provided links would not work due to the door hinge location.

Ah, that makes sense. You've got a lot more room. That's why I said if we're talking about the same overhead console it wont fit between the lights.
