Detailed the exterior of my ‘08 Tacoma base truck which recently turned over 422,000 miles with original drivetrain. I clayed the paint and then added a coat of Collinite wax. Next project is to detail the interior.

The same shit everyone else has.
Rebuilt the slave cylinder. It went out driving on Saturday. Luckily it happened close to home and I was able to limp it home.

Finally bit the bullet and tackled a project that I was dreading. Ironically, procrastinating made it so much worse. Rear bumper was rusting inside pretty badly. Sandy, muddy schmoo tends to build up with a nice mixture of salt and is basically a corrosion magnet. All the bolts holding the bumper together were nearly seized :annoyed:

I spent several hours chipping, grinding and sanding as much rust as I could remove without a sand blaster. Then a heavy coat of rust converting primer, interior surfaces got a heavy coat of rubber undercoating, and the exterior a heavy layer of bed liner. Hoping the undercoat acts as a moisture barrier. Going to try and make a bi-yearly habit of pulling it, cleaning it out and checking the coating. Getting bumpers to PR is difficult and expensive, and I’d like to get another ten years out of this one. It’s still structurally fine, and it’s 95% cosmetically fine from the outside. Also, replaced all the hardware and sprayed the frame and surrounding parts with undercoat while the bumper was off. Luckily, the frame only has very slight cosmetic rust, if any.

The joys of living in the Caribbean. Also, after doing my C4 fab front bumper, I feel like the design on my All-pro rear bumper is lacking in thought a bit. It’s a quality bumper, but some things just weren’t thought out.

It's in great shape for the mileage.

Well I decided to try my hand at wrapping the silver parts of my dash last night. All in all it came out pretty nice but man is it a pain to get the material in those curves. next up is the silver rings around the gauges.

What are the symptoms of that? Also, how many miles on it when it went out?

The same shit everyone else has.
No clutch pedal. Empty reservoir. Fluid leaking into the bell housing/on to the ground.

I previously rebuilt it about 130k/140k miles ago trying to eliminate the TOB chirp.

    Yipes.

Yep, I did it on the kitchen table lol. First try I was too lazy to go to the shop and get the heat gun so I used the wife's hair dryer. That didn't work out to well so yesterday I got my heat gun and it was a huge difference.

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that slapping some grease on the shaft will quiet up the tob temporarily
