Got my new wheels/tires finally put on today.

Holy crap does it feel good and planted now vs. the stock steelies and tires that were on it

    265/75 Falken WP's & 16x8.5 w/ 0 offset

Sits stock now but I've got some 2020 TRD O.R. coils and struts sittin in my garage which should raise the front a bit and feel nicer... so I've heard.

I think i oughta go ahead and just shred the credit cards now

Yes I put the 2022 Off Road coils and struts, with a 1/4" driver spacer, on a few months ago. Still sits roughly 1-3/8" higher than stock (fairly level) and handles excellent.

Used my Taco today running back and forth to my 86 year old Dads working on his lawn tractor (all the tools, grinders, etc are in my shop). New starter, battery, belts, blades, return spring and some grinding/modding on the blade release mechanism. Then cut his front yard. Worn out from that chore. At least he is good to go for a couple of years.

    Yeah looks good!

I don't plan to go any higher, I did that with my Ranger and I'd rather sit a little lower and be more comfortable on the hwy etc

I ordered a spacer from Headstrong, soon as I get it they're goin on. From all the folks talking about how good it rides/feels - I can't wait to get it done

    alright so
The ARB to add pull strength says drill holes into the frame I believe, for the rest of the bolts
Their recovery point says the same thing

    did you do that?

to switch to warfab later on did you just leave those holes empty? Unless they can maybe be re used and drill holes into warfab bumper to match.

I think warfab doesn’t come with a reinforcement tie in for pulling. Which may not be needed. But other companies that make it (C4, etc) do sell it separately and can probably bolt onto any bumper

Replaced the rusty ass running boards with a new clean set from a double cab.

Traded a factory grille for em so it was worth it.

I’ll find a deal on a set of sliders at some point to replace these….

The only drilling I had to do on the arb was for additional mount points, and I drilled the bumper, not the frame.
I don’t really think I need much more in the way of pulling reinforcement. The frame is as exposed as it could possibly be since it’s such a skeletal frame. That being said, I don’t think these bumpers would sell very well if they weren’t rated for pulling. How would a winch work if the bumper it was mounted to wasn’t rated for some pulls? I cant answer definitively what they’re rated for, but that’s my 2 cents.

    Not today but Tuesday...

Had a bunch of rocks that the previous owner/tenant/somebody put around mulch beds that have A plant or 2 in them. Anyway, these weren't decorative rocks...not pretty rocks....just rocks...they had to go.

So after a neighbor family got what they wanted of them, we loaded the leftovers into my truck to haul to work. I scaled in and out....just under 1800# on the truck.:eek: Oops. But it rode 30 miles of highway and interstate with no problems. I did put it in 4th just in case because I didn't want the cruise to be hunting gears all the way, but it did alright. As far as I can tell 2 days later, no damage or issues.

I'm not sure what our trucks are rated for, but I don't think it's that much. Glad I didn't do any (yet known) damage.

So this happened to my Tacoma, pretty upset. Luckily I just got my state inspection. So I'll rock (no pun intended) it out for a while.

Funny timing on this conversation. I just picked up a yard of damp soil.

    230427-PXL_20230427_152942211.jpg

General Springs HD leaf pack squatted some

    230427-PXL_20230427_153304137.jpg

But I had plenty of clearance for the stock bump stops

    230427-PXL_20230427_153715778.MP.jpg

And finally, in an hour I shoveled it out of the bed of the truck, into the backyard through the gate, and then into the 12x4 raised bed I put together yesterday replacing an old busted 6x4 I made out of cedar fence pickets three years back.
