What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Got the doors done on my buddies truck. He paid me in patches. Got two new ones for my "collection".

Just need to get his back wall done, and eventually his rear doors.

 

Went to go for a ride this morning and found a few drops of what looked like light brown runny grease under the drivers side steering arm…. Closer look there is a small tear in the outer cv axle boot….

so my next project is on tap now. I must have caught it yesterday when I pulled the struts to install the spacers….gorilla mechanic

never done this b4 so I am sure I’ll be searching the forums and utube for tips.

 

I just finished install of a pop lock 8521, pretty easy but the wiring on the instructions were wrong so that took a bit of googling to figure out.

 

I recognize a Whitephosphor and FOG patch when I see one.

Finally installed my temp sensor

 

grinded with sanding flap disk, and finished with edge trim. rear all finished next up fronts!

 

Spruce mica and pyrite mica are the 2 best colors on Tacoma. My speedway blue is clean but it ain't no mica.

 

you know they look pretty good on AT and saw one the other day with an Ironman4x4 lift that looked pretty cool

 

Is that the Chinese one you can buy off Amazon?

Original prinsu weather stripping failed finally. Bought 10ft on Amazon for $14 and it’s enough to do two racks. Prinsu wants $40 plus shipping. Yeah right. In the picture where both are in my hand, the left is original prinsu and is an “O” shape that is glued to metal edge clip. It failed by the “O” part detaching from metal edge clip. Amazon is a “U” shape that is built into metal edge clip. Will see which one holds up longer. But for $14 and ten min, will do again with my spare in another 4-5 years.

Serviced the transmission, pan drop, magnets looked good, replaced the strainer and gasket and filled with Lubeguard Platinum Automatic Transmission fluid (10 ounces) and MaxLife ATF.

 

Ya, think I paid like $20. Not bad considering my overhead one has been gone for years

How do you like the auxbeam switch kit?

 

I like it a lot. Super simple install and it’s been solid so far

 

Question, and I hope this makes sense. So all my LED bars/pods have relays that run through my firewall to a switch. (4 total). do I just snip the switches off and plug those wires into the auxbeam or am I bypassing the relays all together?

 

Other than a new radio so that I can have Bluetooth it's staying bone stock. Now in all fairness that's the same thing I said about the Taco when I bought it so I guess only time will tell.
